Type of a scam Phishing
A woman, Jolanda Brown, called my mother's cell phone saying she was from Amazon and that her account had been charged $999 for an I-phone 11. She also said a lot of activity was happening on her account in several states such as NY, CA, LA, IN and maybe more it was hard to understand. The scammer asked her if she knew anyone in these states and also kept asking the current state she lived in.
I (her daughter) checked her Amazon account and no such purchase was on her account. My mother asked for a number to call them back and then hung up. That number was 1-837-174-8683 but again it was so hard to understand I don't if this is correct. The scammers phone number came up as a local number 1-608-288-3661.
She stopped the call before they could get sensitive info.
