West Coast Express Moving Systems Reports & Reviews (1)

- Danville, CA, USA • Nov 03, 2024

Service offered was transport of a few furniture items from Danville, CA to Manchester, MI. An estimate was obtained from a consolidator in Florida (Top Tier Moving) who estimated the volume of the shipment would be just over 315 cubic feet. West Coast Express Moving, assigned by Top Tire, arrived in a yellow rented Penske box truck to make the pickup on the agreed upon date. Once the items were picked up and stowed on the truck- all except a dining room table which was left in the street- Michael, the foreman of the 3 man pickup crew, informed me that the shipment exceeded the 315 cubic feet in the estimate, and that an extra payment would be required (approx $1000). I climbed aboard the box truck and measured the stack of my furniture- it was 8 feet wide x 6 feet high x 4 feet deep- just under 200 cubic feet. Michael refused to acknowledge this information and extorted an extra payment before he would put the dining table on the truck. Of course I had no choice but to make the extra payment since my goods were already effectively in hostage on the truck.
