Unfortunately, I email my info. they said they needed for puppy transportation... my Full Name, State, Town, Address, etc...and Nearest Airport. Also, which Payment Method I Choose To Pay For Adoption with...for me, it was Zelle. From that point, they only send TEXT messages to me. After emailing Bogus pictures of pug puppy "Piper". They (supposedly, John) said that they received my info. and asked if I was ready to make payment, at which time, I said YES. He said "Okay good". "I'll send you our "Zelle" info right now." Which he gave as an email... [email protected], also, he gave a Name: Arnold Jonas for that email Zelle Account. I then, sent $750.00 by "Zelle" from my Zelle acct to that Zelle acct. He requested a "screenshot" after payment was made. Which I did. Several hours later, "John" TEXT me again. This time, he said that they did "not" receive the Zelle payment, but, on my end, it went through. He continued to request me to ...Tell my bank that I made a payment to a "family member" but "they didn't get it" and told me that my "bank would know what to do". Then, an odd sentence..."I'm sure your bank hold the money". At which point, I felt like something was totally wrong and I TEXT... Am I being scammed? Hello? John? ...and for several minutes there was no reply. So, I got on the phone immediately with my bank and reported this situation to them. They are going to investigate this awful occurrence and I will SEE if I might get my $750.00 back. Happened today, Aug 14, 2023 in early am.
"John" TEXT me several mins. Later, after I asked if I was being scammed, and stated..."Please no ... what are you talking about" ,then said, "Please can you give me some few time to find out from our bank", then said, "My cashier says he hasn't received the payment." After that, I quit replying and he hasn't contacted me further.
