The company first emailed me offering employment as a secret shopper. I replied by providing only my name, address, and cell phone number. Several weeks later I received a text from micheal moore. Because the name was written in all lower case, I suspected English was not his first language or perhaps that person was a child. Also, the name Micheal, was spelled differently than the English spelling of the name, that is Michael. Anyway, a few weeks later I received a text from this person asking me to respond if still interested. I did not respond. Eight days later I received an envelope with a check for $2,450.00 and directions to go to the counter at my bank and to be sure not to disclose that I am a secret shopper. Further, I was told to make a copy of the bank deposit slip to prove the transaction occurred and email it to "any of our emails". They said they would make the funds available to me overnight once this was done. The letter from the company was poorly written. It was not on company letterhead and was signed micheal.moore, Task Manager (Walmart Research, Survey. This company name was not the same as the return address on the envelope.

When I texted micheal.moore, I asked him how I could verify the check was real. He replied, "I want you to know the check is real and legit you just need to go and deposit check to your bank account account and when the money is available to you then you can go ahead with your assignment.” Those were his words, verbatim. When I researched Scams on BBB, I noticed something very similar, with the same company name, reported in May, 2021. This to me was such an obvious scam. I hope for the sake of others who receive a check like this in the mail, they read my complaint before cashing it!!
