Type of a scam Home Improvement
Appearing at our home that next Tuesday, after two or three hours of work the first day, he said he had to go and demanded another $1,000.00, which we paid him. The rest of that week he averaged working only a couple of hours each day, using steel wool on my wood cabinet doors. It should be noted that this "expert" did not remove all of the knobs on my cabinet doors, stating that he could work around them. And when I mentioned to him that I could see tracks where the steel wool made indentations on the doors, he was reluctant to smooth out those tracks.
He also tried to steel wool the water marks out of my sink cabinet doors, but they were still very visible after his several attempts to work on them. He then took my two sink cabinet doors over the next weekend to "work" on them; but when he returned them to me on Monday, he had applied some sort of a polyurethane over uneven, pooled stain that he had placed on the doors. When I remarked that they looked terrible, he stated that he could not satisfy me with his work and that I should buy new cabinets from him.
We requested a refund of only half of the money we paid him, but he did not respond to our request.
