Our Sub-Zero refrigerator was leaking. We found an appliance repair shop on Google. The repair guy came in a Tesla and did the repair quickly, explaining that it was a fairly simple repair, but the official manufacturer's parts was very expensive. We believed him, knowing that it was a high end refrigerator. He said his company doesn't accept credit card, so we paid the bill, which was around $1800, by check. About 6 months later, the refrigerator started leaking again and we tried to contact the same repair company thinking the repairs may still be under warranty. When we called what we though was the same business (this time found on Google Maps) called Wilshire Refrigeration & Appliance, they told us we were not in their records. They also told us someone else was spoofing their business and that we might have been scammed. After finding the 'fake' business listings on Google Maps and Yelp with almost the exact same name, reading the fake reviews (all 5 stars), and visiting BBB's website, we are sure now that the original repair guy did not actually do any repairs. We had a similar experience as the user Tawnie Quiroz.

I have been unable to print confirming documents: BUT THIS IS A HIGH LEVEL SCAMMER! known as: Maksim Balashevich, 1201 Fairhaven Ave 14G
The good reviews are scams also! There other reviews that confirm this also!

first he will do things that make you uncomfortable, I wont divulge what this is as to tip him off. You will be significantly over charged! if anything is actually REPAIRED right or wrong. This can destroy your hi end appliance!
So I suggest you contact the real Wilshire Refrigeration, not once but more times on other numbers and verify your history with your appliance!
Go to their real web site that shows these warnings. There are multiple Law Suits and Los Angeles Police filings against him. He just keeps on changing identities and companies. I have been told he ( which HAS happened to me ) spoofs phone # of Wilshire Appliance, and others? to capture customers.
WE ALL NEED TO BE DILIGENT! and I will guess this site will be shut down after this! which will prove my point.
Please look at the Wilshire Appliance sites not just one! And be careful their phone #'s are being spoofed! PLEASE VERIFY your HISTORY!

Update! Maksim Balashevich corporate # 5469839 now of:01/26/2023 has reviews of only 2022! He has not updated his staged reviews! so I will give him a good review! to show how easy it is! Dont loose thousand of dollars!

Attached is a picture of Maksim Balashevich Leaving house on my ring Camera.
He used a Wi-Fi blocker entering house, so I could not get a clear picture twice! I showed video to Andy.
I am also attempting to get his License plate # from our Entry Gate Camera. Do you want me to file a police report?
Any other way I can help?

Thank you, William. My wife and I were scammed by the same guy. Thanks for posting the image of him as it matches with the guy who came to our house as well. With some research, I see he has a set of fake business pages on Google Maps and Yelp, including fake reviews. I saw one which is trying to impersonate the next authorized Sub-Zero repair shop (called Box Appliance SoCal), as I am told by Sub-Zero customer care that Wilshire Refrigeration is now no longer on their program. I'm trying to do what I can to raise awareness on those sites in order to help other potential victims avoid the same fate.

In May, 2023, I contacted what I thought was a company I had used many times in the past to service my refrigerator - Wilshire Refrigeration. Unfortunately, I was unaware that there was a company using that name, with just a slight variation, Wilshire-Refrigeration. They sent a repairman, Steven (818) 824-2096. He came to my house and did a complete re-build of my Sub-Zero refrigerator. The invoice states that all parts and materials are warranted for 5 years. I subsequently became aware that the company that performed this service was NOT the original Wilshire Refrigeration (they actually recently posted a warning on their website: wilshirerefrigeration.com - about the impersonators.) My refrigerator is again having problems. I tried contacting the serviceman directly, who claimed he no longer worked for the company, and told me to call the number on my invoice. I called three times, left messages, got no response. When I called today (800) 680-8623, there was a strange message that made no sense. Obviously, the company is not honoring my warranty, and has been detrimental to the original company it was impersonating. I've now got a refrigerator that still needs service, but no one to honor the bogus warranty. I will reach out to the original Wilshire Refrigeration, but I'm sure I'll have to pay additional money for any required service.

I thought I called Wilshire Refrigeration, the legitimate company. However, on the Internet, the first choice was Wilshire-Refrigeration, the SPAM company. The spam company identified themselves as Wilshire Refrigeration and quoted me $95.00 to come and fix a code on my Cove (Wolf) dishwasher so I could use it. They came and spent 15 minutes supposedly clearing the line and spraying a $1,000 can of chemical into my dishwasher filter telling me that that was specially made for Cove dishwashers and would not let me see the can. He then took out his phone and asked me to give him a check for $399.00. I told him that was outrageous but I was afraid because I was alone with him in the house so I signed it and he scanned it into his phone. And, he never fixed the code.

After he left I went back to my records of an earlier recall and contacted the legitimate Wilshire Refrigeration where they told me that they had a court case against Wilshire-Refrigeration who were pretending to be Wilshire Refrigeration and LAPD had a case number against them with many complaints and suggested I stop payment on the check which I did successfully. The scam company, Wilshire-Refrigeration is now threatening to put a lien on my house. I'm not sure how Wilshire-Refrigeration can be in business since its name is so close to Wilshire Refrigeration. The scam company way overcharged me and the code was not fixed and they had the nerve to tell me I need this done every year. They told me if they would not have deducted the $95.00 from the total, they would have charged me $500.00 - outrageous!. Not sure how the scam company could pay Google so much money to be first on the list when you search for Wilshire Refrigeration and they list the scam company, Wilshire-Refrigeration first.
