Type of a scam Phishing
When I called the number I was told that Microsoft had provided it free for one year but were now charging for it. And the ONLY WAY I could opt out was to download an app that gave them server control of my computer (I was on my Mac at the time). I said, "Is this a scam?" And of course they were offended and swore to me it was not, and I had to fill out a form online with THEM in control of my computer, and your ScamPulse.com logo came up a number of times. I will not bore you with details but I became so distraught during the process they called me an old lady grandma. Insults are one thing but FRAUD is another. I realized only after I was able to get them out of my computer that I had been had. And they MAY HAVE seen my bank account information, but I'm not sure.
They did NOT manage to take money out of my bank but I was so worried about what they may have left behind, I DID LOSE MONEY. I paid a local computer tech $150 to scan my system. It was a horrifying experience and they should be arrested. They are using your logo to legitimize their fraudulent operation. I made a screen shot of the "refund form" I took during the process. I would have included the email as well but there's no provision for it on this form.
I wish I had that $150 back because my income is very low. Yes I am 70 and a cancer survivor, but I am no old lady grandma! Please catch and prosecute these thugs. Thank you.
