Good Day to you, my name is Catrina Harmon and I am reaching out to you from Winnebago Seed Fund in regards to a remote position we are currently looking to fill. I have gone through your resume that was sent to our Company’s Talent pool for review from Indeed, and I must say I am impressed with your work experiences. The position we are currently looking to fill is a Remote Customer Service Position with an hourly pay of $40 per hour and paid training. I was looking to see if we could set up a time for a brief meeting via Microsoft Teams for the position. It’s a great Company and position, offers room for growth within the Company, awesome benefits and you can have a permanent position which you can decide to resume as soon as tomorrow. I will need you to set-up a screen name on Microsoft Teams and add Mr Bret Woodson there for a brief meeting. It will not take longer than 40 minutes.

I was wary about the company and text but proceeded to this interview because of the referencing to my Indeed profile, which is public to possible employers, and the fact that a friend of mine also had a first-round interview via text on Microsoft team with her current employer. They interviewed through text and asked very basic and "normal" interview questions after providing information about the company. When sent a "contract" and asked to provide SSN and legal ID I was hesitant yet again and looked up their address to ensure they were a real location. Their address took me to a separate business named Excelion Partners and the surrounding businesses didn't have the "Winnebago Seed Fund" name. I then found their website (https://www.winnebagoseedfund.com/), which was very short and had no contact or information resources, and was almost word for word on "Bret Woodson's" description of the company. After this, they received no information or contact from me.

I click the link and begin a two hour interview, that, although did not seem stranger first, was able to see that the professionalism had left the conversation, and that there were a lot of small grammatical errors, that if I was really being offered this position, would not be present. When I asked about the status of employment, they just told me to report to them at 8 AM. Which is when I felt uneasy by the time it was the end of the conversation.
