I responded to an job posting on Indeed for a position with a company called Wipro. I applied using my Indeed resume. The company contacted me by phone and set up an interview. A recruiter was the person calling to schedule it. I was contacted by this woman who conducted an interview and even had another person on the line as a second interviewer. After the interview I reached out to the recruiter and asked for the woman's email, so I could thank her. He said that he had already spoke to her and it went well and I could expect an offer the following week. The recruiter called back to make me an offer and it was the high end of the pay listed. He started asking me questions that he should have already had the answer to. What was my address? Who was my current employer? Then he asked my birth date. The question that made me wonder how legit this was when he asked me where I was born. I then started looking in to this company by typing in Wipro Scam. There is was. The whole scenario laid out for me. I tried calling them number of the person that called for the interview...it gave me a message that the person was unavailable. The recruiter sent me a link to the company HR program called embark and said I had to fill in all the info on the first try. It immediately asked for a password...I used one I would not use anywhere else. It then started asking me more employment questions, which were all on my application. I closed the program and when I hit the link again it gave me an error message. The HR program had several unfinished sentences, distorted photos, and misspelled words. I then contacted the recruiter to ask where the office was located in my city. He said, "I don't know. I will find out and get back to you." With all the red flags I'm sure this is a scam just like it was outlined on the internet.
