Noticed a charge on my mother's brand new Amex which she had just received as the previous had been shut down for fraud. It was for Hawk Auto in Seattle which seemed odd and I disputed. This week, there was a random charge on a different credit card which had recently been breached from Hawk Warranty which seemed odd. I then noticed a charge on the Amex from a company called MEPCO which was not recognized. I disputed that with Amex as well. I came to visit my mother and found "paperwork" with no date on it from MEPCO confirming that she is making recurring payments to them under a service contract - the one I suspect she was billed for. There is a section on this "contract" that shows contact information and where it says "Questions regarding the purchase of this contract", WNK Associates is listed and when I call that number, it goes to a voicemail for Hawk Auto. There is also language in the "contract" that says "The types of personal information we collect and share depend on the product or service you have with us. This information can include: Social Security number and Credit Card and/or Checking Account information; Account Balance and Account Transaction and Transaction History; Payment History and Other Personally Identifiable Information." It indicates that MEPCO shares information, and the is no limit to the sharing. This is DEFINITELY not anything my mother ordered nor needs and I am convinced both MEPCO and WNK Associates are fake companies. My mother has had 3 credit cards breached by these people and we have no idea how they got her card details. She doesn't own a computer and is not very smart phone savvy.
