Start of Services
Friday, May 6th - Spoke with Vrushali Wagh. Explained my current job situation where I am working 80-hour weeks with interrupted sleep schedules. I explained that I need a career switch to a Business Analyst role. As part of the agenda, Wonsulting stated that they had a three month goal to find me a new job. I honestly did not expect a job in 3 months, but I at least expected to have completed a number of interviews from the services as well as receive other major improvements in my job searching portfolio.
As of today, not a single interview I had in the past 5 months resulted from the services provided from Wonsulting. All the interviews I have done were gained from my own personal efforts to network and make friends with people who work as recruiters who could then refer me to companies and put me through the interview process. I genuinely am getting better help from my friends offering their help for free, rather than the almost $1400 service from the agency that I paid for.
* Below you will see a screenshot of the agenda from the call with Vrushali with the agenda points, where we confirmed at least a difference would be made in my job search within 3 months.
Career Consulting
June 21st – Chris Kwok reached out.
July 6th – Call with Chris Kwok. He gathered the requirements for what I was looking for in my dream role. Despite him doing so, key issues in my job search persist. I am still getting recruiters messaging me for roles outside of my goals, which again are for Business Analyst roles. When I try to apply for a Business Analyst roles, silence.
I also received the tip to buy LinkedIn Premium and message recruiters directly, whenever they post a Business Analyst role. So I have done so and I bought LinkedIn Premium and have been actively reaching out to recruiters. All of the recruiters I have reached out to have given only silence. This tip is useless and vapid, especially to someone who paid almost $1400.
Resume Revision
May 11th – Spoke with Jason (no last name provided?) regarding the route that I am interested in going with in my career. I described how I am looking for a full-time employee role (FTE) rather than a contractor role. I elaborated and told him I am open to finding ways to secure a full-time role where I am contracting in Fannie Mae and how I am interested in other companies as well including Amazon or Capital One, as well as Federal roles.
Jason has put in zero effort in improving my resume in any of the areas I had elaborated that I was interested in. In fact, he deleted my core competencies and sections of my experience, out of my resume and then simply reduced my resume margins and deleted my profile summary. How is any of that helpful in what I have paid for Wonsulting to accomplish?
May 18th – Call with Jason. I expressed to him that my resume was not strong enough for the job search and how he did not make any changes to suit me pursuing a Business Analyst role. Every recruiter reaching out to me only had Accounting and System Software roles, which are exactly what I am avoiding.
Linkedin Profile Revision
May 12th – Spoke with Saketh Turlapati, the service provider for the LinkedIn Profile Revision.
May 15th – Saketh finished LinkedIn Review. We had a phone call and he told me that my LinkedIn already looked good. The only changes he said to make were to update the profile picture and background picture to recent pictures, and to possibly use the DC landscape backgrounds for the LinkedIn banner.
There was no value added there, he literally did nothing. Nothing Saketh did has allowed my LinkedIn to be more appealing to recruiters and I continue to have major issues, the most prominent one being recruiters reaching out to me for the wrong roles, despite voicing several times at this point that I am interested in Business Analyst roles.
Auto Apply to Jobs
After 5 months, this is the key service I really needed. Especially since I work over 80 hours a week and work all-nighters. I thought that by purchasing a premium service and paying over $1300, this would help alleviate some of the burnout I am experiencing. I need this, and this service was one of the key reasons I got the ultimate package but I had not seen anything in this category done for a while. Apparently this service started on July 22nd but this is too little too late. It's far past the three months goal and my resume and linkedin have barely changed at all, so what value is Wonsulting providing by applying to jobs for me with a portfolio that is not optimized?
Job Search Strategies
July 21st – Spoke with Xiong-Jie Aaron Zhuo. All he did was tell me that I was already doing everything I can. There is, again, literally no value added here. Nothing new. I did appreciate his positivity and encouragement. But that is not helpful to my career search and there is no value added from this meeting.
12/9/22, 8:49 AM Gmail - Disappointed with my Services
Interview Preparation
August 10th – Gary Hwu reached out. I had already 5 interviews at this point, thankfully from my individual work and with zero contribution from the Wonsulting services. At this point, Gary reaching out was far too late considering that this is month 5 into my service. Again, no value being added to me and my portfolio from the almost $1400 service.
Refund Request
August 23rd – I reached out to Wonsulting and requested a refund. ________________________________________________________________________________...⇄ />
My last email to wonsulting and their payment program Shop Pay -
As you can see from my detailed account of events, Wonsulting has not honored the agreements made with me when I purchased the Ultimate Package. Any work that has been done by the service providers has been their most minimum effort, with minimal but mostly zero change made to anything they said they were working on. I have recorded every account in detail and have more than enough documentation to show to the Better Business Bureau or my credit card provider to dispute the charges; however, I would like to try to resolve this with Wonsulting first and request a full refund for the poor services that have been provided to me.
