Type of a scam Employment
The last email I received was from [email protected] and it says the following:
“Dear _____, (my name in it)
Thank you for applying for the Data Entry Specialist (Remote) position with STERLING CONSTRUCTION CO. INC. We are grateful for your interest in our company.
I am Ronald A. Ballschmiede, the Executive Vice President and COO of STERLING CONSTRUCTION CO. INC. Your application has been reviewed by our HR department, and we find that your qualifications align with our requirements.
This position offers the flexibility of working from home (100% REMOTE) and comes with excellent benefits, including Health, Dental, Employee Wellness, and 401k plans, as well as Paid Time Off and Holidays, along with Generous Company Discounts.
Details of the position:
Job Title: Data Entry Specialist
Hours: 40 Hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, with a lunch break at 12 Noon and a 30-minute break.
Weekly Salary: $1,400
Responsibilities/Duties:-Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners.
-Type in data provided directly from customers.
-Create error-free spreadsheets with large amounts of data.
-Verify data accuracy by comparing it to source documents.
-Update existing data in the system.
-Retrieve data from databases or electronic files as required.
-Perform regular data backups to ensure preservation.
-Organize and maintain paperwork to prevent data loss.
