I started to enter the URL from a Cannon printer (legit URL is: https://ij.start.canon/TR4720) and allowed the browser's autocomplete to take me to what I thought was the legitimate site. I did not check the URL before proceeding, but the scammer site was https://worldprintsolutions.com/ where a chat bot asked me some questions about what I needed which was installing printer on a Mac, etc. It then said a support rep would call in 5 minutes to assist in setup of printer. They called, then they had me go through steps to add a printer to "Printers & Scanners" by entering an IP address which did not work to get the printer online. At that time they said I would have to pay $129 for a 1-time support resolution or a $199 for 4 years. I asked for a manager and was given another number to call (888-822-1124) which turned out was another scam. I did not give any information but I can't believe I fell for it for as long as I did!
