I was contacted by Sam Butler, so identify himself as the CEO of World Expo on November 15, 2021 by phone call. He mentioned that he was going to have the Orlando Music and Sport Festival at Icon Park on 1/8/2022 and ask if we could be one of the sponsors. As new food truck entrepreneurs we were very excited about this opportunity to get out and advertise our business name and service. After reviewing the details about this event we found out that the food truck vendor fee was $1,250 and respectfully declined the opportunity since this was not in our budget. Sam offered to lower the price down to $450 and we decided to go forward with paying for the event by credit card since this was going to be a great opportunity for us. As it came close to the event, on 12/30/2021, I reached out to Sam via email to confirm the event details. He then responded stating that the event had to be postpone secondary to Covid reasons and event was pushed 1/29/2022. Unfortunately we had already scheduled a paid event for that day and requested reimbursement for the event. He stated he would respond reimbursed us after the January 29, 2022 event.

On 1/23/2022, I noticed online that his event was moved to March 29. I confronted him by email about this date concern and then mentioned we could probably make it that day.

He stated that his web guy made a mistake and it was actually moved to March 19.

Today, on March 16, 2022, I’ve contacted 3 sponsors (Johnny from Ghost Kitchen, Patrick from Hormone & Wellness, and I emailed Francisco from APC Roofing) that are listed on the event website and ask them if they had similar experiences. I’ve heard from Johnny and Patrick who mentioned that they were concerned about this event as it’s been pushed since the Summer 2021. They did not pay and will not pay.

I emailed Sam today requesting for my $450 refund and he said that the event got pushed to the fall and to give him 60 days. I requested to receive the refund as soon as possible as I waited long enough and heard from two other sponsors that this event was delayed since summer 2021. I have not heard back from him.
