Had info they shouldn't have

I received a call from someone who said her name was Mary (very heavy accent). She had the last 4 of my social security number, and address. She would not tell me what the call was about until I verified the information, which I would not do. When I got upset and pushed the issue of the reason for the call she hung up. I called back and talked to a supposed supervisor and got the same treatment. I still don't know what they wanted.

I got 3 calls with a recording stating that I was being audited for underpaying my taxes. I knew right away that it was a scam. I talked to two people they both sounded middle eastern and neither would tell me the name of the agency that they were with. When I said that I wasn't paying them any money they said that I would be prosecuted in court by the IRS. The first thing they wanted was my email and my address "to verify that they were talking to the right person." I asked why they hadn't sent me anything in the mail regarding the situation and they said that the post man wasn't authorized to leave it in the mailbox or at the door. I pay taxes and have a job that I go to every day but there is always someone at the house because my roommates all work different shifts at the same job, so it's imrobable that "the postman came to my house 3 different times and didn't make contact with anyone." I obviously want this investigated and terminated. Thank you.

They called and harassed me saying I had an unpaid payday loan and had a warrant for my arrest. They had personal information about me and even called my husband at work to harass him even though this supposed debt was from 4 years before I even met him and was in my maiden name.
