Craigslist add for a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara with a purchase price of $8400. Seller wasin the air force and recently divorced, looking to sell the Jeep before deployment. When told I was interested and asked to come look at the vehicle I was told he was selling it through WPS Logistics and there had to be a wire transfer before delivery would be executed. Upon reaearching the company the website looks very good and legitimate however, the address only took me to an airport location. When I called and asked if I could come to the "warehouse" to see the vehicle the operator said this was impossible.

A craigslist add for a 1999 Newmar Motor home listed for $18,000. There was no contact information in the ad - had to respond via craigslist link. A Greg [email protected] responded. The owner supposedly was in the air force in Oklahoma but was transferred to Alaska, so the 3rd party agency is handling the transaction. They asked for my name and address, and sent an invoice that listed a third party shipping agency that is holding the RV in escrow until the transaction is complete. I tried to independently verify the 3rd party agency, WPS Express Logistics but the address listed was just the airport with no Suite or building number. I called the airport authority and found there was no company by that name there. On further research I realized that the scammer Greg Pfeffer's email last name was misspelled [email protected] (first fe was missing). The only form of payment accepted was wire transfer (untraceable). There is a Greg Pfeffer in the USAF and there is a public article about him being in Alaska, so it all looked legitimate at first. The WPS Express Logistics web site is very good looking and seems legit, but it is a fraud.
