I received an email through indeed.com stating that Best Buy had approved my job application and wanted to hire me, it then linked me to www.attentivebackcheck.com where I was asked to pay for a background check.
I never applied for Best Buy through indeed.com, I applied for Best Buy through their actual website where my application is still under review. I contacted Best Buy asking them about this, they told me they never ask any applicant to pay for a background check, and that their interview process is far more extensive than stated in this fake email.
I did a quick search and found two posts about similar emails for job applications linking back to this same site, and also found that the site has not been up for that long. There is no detailed information or legitimate contact on the website, and searching for the address listed on their site shows the Museum of American Finance.
