Type of a scam Tech Support
A couple of days later he called (I didn't answer) and he left a message saying he was just checking on how my computer was working. Meanwhile I'd changed all my significant passwords and the master password.
This past Wednesday he called and said they'd detected a malicious virus on my computer. I asked how he knew that and he said they had my computer address. I asked how I could get a virus with the protection plan that I had from them and he said that I picked it up on the Interntet. He then showed my a list of the "running " and the "stopped" programs on my computer. I know that not all programs run at the same time. I don't know what he did that day but I had an email from my password protection program saying that someone had tried to use the "forgot password " on that program but the company doesn't do that. Thank goodness. Meanwhile I changed my passwords again including the master one and called my bank. I immediately thought of turned off my computer and removed the battery. I'm afraid to turn it back on. What can I do? Thank you.
