Type of a scam Online Purchase
and ordered shoes. However at the check out they charged $100.00 US dollars ($130.00 Cnd). She received a confirmation email stating her purchase should arrive in 7-15 business days. The shoes never arrived. Then my cousin had to go overseas and sent them a message regarding the status of the shoes. She received a long winded email with very vague info ie: Aug.28- Order made
Aug. 29- order in progress
Aug 30 - order confirmation complete
Aug.31- order processing initiated…
It goes on the give a daily account of NO specific info about where the parcel is being shipped from, even though my cousin sent another email upon returning home. The emails continued to be vague and contained words like now at port, waiting to go through customs.”… which seemed odd if the customer service phone number is California, USA.
When my cousin demanded more specific details, as the order was initiated in August 2023, the emails stopped. We phoned the “Customer service phone number” on their website and it states “This number is not in service.”
My cousin thought this was a legitimate business since it showed .ca, even though the conversion to US dollars seemed odd.
This website www.tomscanadaoutlet.ca is STILL active! This is clearly some illegitimate business posing as a Canadian outlet for Tom’s shoes.
We don’t know how to get the money back nor how to stop this company from cheating other people.
