I put my car for sale on craigslist. I received a text from a person named Madison, saying they want to buy the car but I need to go to this specific website to get a report about the car. I said I like to use carfax. They said that I have to use this specific website to run the vin report. That they bought cars in the past and they like this website better because it's cheaper.

I told him I raised the price of the car because I under priced it, he/she said no problem.

This was all through text.

Then I looked up this website to see and found the scam.

BEWARE.

I didn't go on the website. Other reports say he wants to steal credit card info.

When he said I had to go on that specific report and not car fax, I was suspicious. Why would anyone care what report I used to get the car vin on.

Hope this helps anyone else selling cars.
