- Logan, UT, USA

03/13/22, hired Zach Brown business owner of Live Intelligent, LLC and Clear Line Property Services, LLC for basement renovation at 152 south 400 west in Logan, UT. Project budget set at $15,000-$20,000 with a May, 2022 completion deadline. 03/13/22, $2000 Venmo transfer to Zach Brown. 03/15/22, $8000 check was written out to Live Intelligent, LLC which was deposited into account number on the same day. Basement renovation start date 3/17/22. Weekly renovation progression updates from Zach until 4/25/22. On 4/25/22, $2500 additional money request from Zach for 5 basement windows and egress work that Zach heavily recommended be done, the $2500 was sent from the victim to Zach Brown through Venmo. No contact from Zach between 04/25/22-05/10/22. 05/11/22 Contact from Zach via phone conversation with victim, and last pictures of the basement before Zach abandoned the project were sent. Multiple attempts to reach Zach via phone call, leaving voice messages and text messages from 05/12/22-06/22 were made with no response from Zach. Contact with Zach was made on July, 2022, he offered very little clarification surrounding why he was no longer taking our calls, keeping us updated on the completion of the renovation or explaining why there were so many delays with the renovation, but stated he could get the renovation done by the end of August 2022, and this deadline was also missed. No contact with Zach again until 09/16/22, and during this phone conversation, he informed us he would not be completing the job and the windows had not been purchased. When we requested that he return the $2500 that was sent to him through a Venmo transaction, he stated he did not have that money to send back to us. In Sep, Zach sent us an inaccurate invoice that reflected the $10,000, however, did not itemize where the $10,000 was allocated across the renovation work. Included in that invoice are charges for paint materials and labor for the work to paint the walls, however, the walls were not painted. It has been verified by two other contractors that the walls were primed only. There is no mention of the $2500 on this invoice that was sent to Zach for the purchasing of 5 basement windows and egress work he recommended be done. In October, 2022 a request for an itemized invoice from Zach was made. On 10/6/22, Zach responded via text message that he was still working on getting the numbers together for the invoice, again, this request was ignored and has not been sent. As of November, 2022 there has been no further contact from Zach Brown regarding this renovation he was hired to do, and then abandoned, though he was paid in advance to do this work.
