Told us that our electricity would be shut off unless we gave them a credit card over the phone. When we called them out on it, they hung up the phone on us immediately.

My husband googled Excel energy and called the first number that came up. He proceeded to pay the bill under his social security number because he didn't have his account number. They sent him a link to his phone to pay I can't even believe he went through with all that. It was not Xcel energy!

They called me and told me that my bill was overdue and was about to go to collections also told me that they were calling from Xcel energy

I called a number stating that it was Xcel Energy I wanted to transfer my address for a moving they said that it now cost $200 I said I never heard of that before after they had all my information. Then they got it down to $5 and I said I've never heard this before a transfer fee they said they were Xcel Energy and so I assume they knew that what they were doing because they said I had a credit on my account and I knew that somehow they knew that information they asked for my account number and I gave it to him for my bank and they are attempting to take $109 out I'm waiting for my bank to call me so I can stop payment but they took all my information

I was scummed by suspicious phone number while I was trying to create a new account for xcel energy.

He told me Xcel was putting a new meter at my place and this was a deposit I needed to pay. We don’t have Xcel energy in Ohio so I knew it was a scam. He said the meter installer was on his way right then.I told him I was sick and he said I would have to come to the Xcel office right then to pay it and said bye and hung up.

Consumer reached out to us via public line and said that she had received a call from a 8008954999 number that listed Xcel Energy on the caller ID. She mentioned that she did not have Xcel Energy and the message stated that she needed to call back and make a payment or her service would be disconnected.
