Text message sent to wife indicated a possible discount with an associated phone number to call of 866-219-0078. Called that number and the person was very aggressive in pushing applying for the discount; ~90$/month would be halved to 45$/month on paying 540$ in advance. I agreed. He (Michael) gave me an activation code - XFIxxx, and yet another phone number - 833-839-03421 to call. He added another condition - obtain a Target credit card; at that I balked, and wanted to cancel the change. The agent, Michael, said there'd be a 300$ cancellation fee. Simply hung up on the character; was never notified beforehand of any fee.

The guy asked me to view my current bill - which paid that bill, and he noted it had a 0$ balance then.
