I was contacted, by txt msg, by Zetagen Therapeutics. They sent a link for me to join Microsoft Teams, with a job reference ID, and said to speak to Donald Ballard. We went through a whole interview process, and he told me if hired, their company provides funds for me to set up my home office, he gave me a list of supplies to get, then said the check they send normally comes by mail, but because of couriers, they need to send it by email. He said I need to print out the check on regular paper, cut it, and send him a photo of the check to make sure it is cut correctly. The check wouldn't print right, so he said he would be on standby until I printed it again because I needed to adjust my printer. I was hired, he said, they went as far as to send me emails of an offer and hiring contract for me to sign and send back right away. He said the I9 Form and W2s will be sent by mail because of the sensitive information. In one email, the instructions on depositing the check into my mobile account, it said I need to send a screenshot of the check being deposited to show it was in my account. I never deposited the check.

I called the telephone number I found online for thia company, which seems like a legitimate company, and a woman answered saying "Hello?" I told her I had a missed call from this telephone number. She said she never called me. I then asked if this was her personal telephone number, she said "Uh, I dont answer that. Have a good day." I said "Ah, I see why you don't." Thanks to my dad, I was able to quickly cease contact with these scammers!
