Applied for a job on ziprecruiter for data entry. Received a text message the next day from (854) 254-4475 stating "Hello this is Elizabet(sic) Halladay regarding your interest in (position)." It stated a salary that was different from the posted salary. They then asked if I can do an interview on Signal or Zoom. I was then asked for a contact email and await the HR department to add me on zoom and schedule an interview. I didn't notice at first but the email they were using was a gmail acount. They asked to do the interview immediately.

This Person put an ad for a position on ziprecruiter for a remote admin assistant/data entry. I sent my resume through the ziprecruiters website. I was then contacted via email about the position. an interview was set up using an app called signal by a person calling themselves by the name *********** ***. This name used is a name of someone who works for the company. I have the thread of our conversation if needed. During this interview I was informed that I had to Purchase 2 things needed for this position 1. Apple Iphone 15 pro max 256gb & 2. Apple MacBook pro 2021. He then told me I would have to mail the items to a software company to get the needed software installed. I then informed him that I could not afford to purchase these items and he would have to send them to me. he replied by telling me I would have to cover the shipping costs equalling &200. After this conversation I started to research the company. I found an email for another employee of Northzone and sent an email regarding the conversation with *********** *** . The person I contacted was Jessica *******, email: ********************** She responded and informed me that this encounter with this *********** *** is a case of Fraud. I am concerned and felt it needed to be told.

Given the similarities of the emails, I looked up the sender information and went online to research the businesses. I saw the ScamPulse.com scam alert and decided to respond. I believe the individuals also have access to our technology after we respond to the first text/email because as I was trying to respond to this report (this is my 4th time), my information kept erasing. When I went turn off my Wi-Fi information and turn on my mobile information (since I am using a mobile phone to make this report), I was met with resistance. Then I turned off my mobile information and went to change my Wi-Fi network name and password, again meeting with some resistance. Luckily, we have multiple phones in our household and on our plan, so I was able to go to several phones in order to change the information so I can make this report without interruption.

I will also be making sure this report is held with the TX & PA BBBs.

The extent of this fraud and the lengths that these criminals have proven they will go to in order to steal our information, has motivated me to help deal with this issue. Since I am currently looking for my next remote project and since I came upon this scam (which is not very funny at all to those of us seriously trying to pivot into something new), I would inquire if the ScamPulse.com has any positions in their fraud unit that I could work remotely to help combat what we as consumers go through? I would absolutely welcome the opportunity, so please pass my information along to anybody that can help make that happen.

I appreciate you and all that you do.

I was approached in the past by an individual using the exact same email as the one this "recruiter" used. The only things that had been changed were the company name and address, the name of the "HR Manager" and the app they wanted me to download. They instructed me to schedule an interview by downloading the Element app to my phone and that I would be contacted by Sydney Lawrence. They also used an @dr.com email address.

Not too long ago I went through the "interview" process described above and determined that it was a scam and wanted to provide this new attempt.

I signed up for a job posting on LinkedIn, when I canceled it through linkedin the credit card continue to be charged and when an attempt to cancel the job posting was made from the ziprecruiter website so such possibilities was available, the job posting didn't even populate in my account.

I have been job hunting and so my resume is on multiple job sites. This person alleged they were an Elizabeth Evans, working for Anthem Blue Shield and was offering me a WFH data entry customer service position, if I passed an interview via the Signal app. I asked about the schedule and it seems they would let me work freelance, but I could find no info on ziprecruiter.com, which they claimed to find me on, or blue shield's careers listings about any such job. I became extra suspicious because it was the same 401 area code that another scammer contacted me from for a different company. When Googling the phone number, 401-285-0499, it brought me to this site, saying other people reported it. As for me, I just blocked them.

It was a job on Ziprecruiter, when you hit the button to apply it took you to a google docs application page. Some of the English was a little weird, but I can always chalk that up to it not being a persons first language. Afterwards, I completely forgot I applied- which was in the last 2 weeks of June I believe- and they texted me on July 5th, 2023 at 8:19 am. They said they "Hired you as my personal assistant. How are you doing today? I just emailed you now read and confirm the receipt of the email. Thanks." The email reads as such

Sierra Lumpkin ,

I will get back to you as soon as I have payment for errands and your salary sent to you with set of Instructions on each task you are to perform. Thanks in anticipation of your prompt response,

Best regards,

Taylor Bastiste

I looked a bit deeper into it, this is not my first time running into a scam job and everything screamed scam. The fact that they said they hired me BEFORE the interview, and then after I asked a few questions proceeded to ignore those questions and told me "I got your email your first assignment will be mail to you through UPS and I'll be returning on the 22nd of July so we should be able to meet up for a proper interview two days later or whenever you are able to meet for interview after my arrival. I'll keep you posted. Always confirm receipt of my text to avoid any misunderstanding."

I applied for a position of Virtual Chat Moderator at OnePet via Ziprecruiter. https://www.ziprecruiter.com/c/OnePet/Job/Virtual-Chat-Moderator-(Remote)/-in-Au... Received an automated email telling me to contact [email protected] for next steps; then received an email from Keira Scarlet HR, HLPM Consulting Inc. telling me I was hired and requesting at a rate higher than I had asked and instructing me to send copy of Drivers License, selfie and a copy of my Social Security card. I was skeptical as the pay was $1000 a week, with a raise to $1200 a week after the first month. The rate of pay was extremely high, especially with no interviews or contact beyond my resume and cover letter. I've been working online for over 20 years and know "too good to be true" is exactly that. I began looking at the email in detail and saw that it was supposedly sent from hlpcminc.com. Opening that website shows a "not registered" page. I had also checked out the job listing here

https://careers.one.pet/p/a8389d1e0fce-virtual-chat-moderator. However, I saw that the link there to the home page of the company just looped back to that same page. I then went to what I believe is the legitimate company website, https://one.pet/ and could find no links to job openings or careers. As I continued sleuthing, I ran across a posting here about the same EXACT incident that was recently reported. Adding my experience to the pile in hopes of keeping anyone from becoming a victim.

I applied to a job on an online website. The next day i received and email to set up an interview. I've been doing a lot of remote job searching lately so i have a few steps i take when i get an email like this. I look into the company and I look at the senders email and google it. Next I look at the message they sent and see what kinda of info they are trying to collect. When i googled this persons email i found this website and saw someone else experience with them so i just wanted to update the info they are trying to use. New company and Interviewer name, but pretty much the same messaging.

Decided to conduct interview via chat, using messaging program known as Signal, instructing to add the interviewers number (954) 372-7344 and send a verification code.

I was told I would be hired for a Retail Fulfillment Associate position at Linelix I was to be paid monthly income $3250. I was given a w9 to fill out. I was told I would be be contacted in 10 days after my 30 day probation period I was sent six packages to send to the people who were to receive them using a CRM program (https://bulk-crm.com/index.php?e=12000)on a site to log in every day. The site has been down for "Maintenance" Since the 15th of December. I waited the 10 days to receive my check which I was told I would receive through the mail. I never received it. I contacted Payroll they said they would send me another one. I tried calling the phone numbers that were provided to me to contact HR to check in on my review to see if I got the perminiant position. I have been leaving messages and have not been able to contact anyone. I have sent multiple emails and the emails wont go through anymore because the email addresses no longer exist.
