I thought I was applying for a job. I applied for this fake job through ZipRecruiter and made a profile on the ZipRecruiter website. I got an email a couple of hours later from "The Rivers Organization" saying my resume was received. Three hours later, I got a second, more ambiguous email from "Samantha Bruner" inviting me for an initial interview. The email was so vague I didn't know who the company was. There was a Zoom link at the bottom I was supposed to click to schedule my interview. I got suspicious so I did not click the link. This second email was from: [email protected] which didn't make sense. I did some online research and concluded this was a scam. I took a screenshot of the fake job posting on ZipRecruiter at 5pm. Wanting to report the fake job posting, I called ZipRecruiter at (877)252-1062 and got a recording only because I pressed the job seeker option. When I called back, and pressed the option that I was a new employer, I spoke with a human being. I spoke with Jo from ZipRecruiter who gave me their email [email protected] but the refused to let me speak with a someone from their Trust and Safety Department. Before I got a chance to email ZipRecruiter to complain, the fake job posting from The Rivers Organization for Enrollment Advisor/Customer Service Representative had magically disappeared at 5:20pm. I plan to delete my ZipRecruiter account. They did not care that I trusted their website and entered all of my personal information, and that I had been scammed. I wonder if they are in on the scam?
