I responded to an online add in Craigslist regarding a boat for sale. I made contact with Zylan Motors via online Chat session and exchanged emails, chats, and pictures regarding the boat. They even offered to scheduled time for me to look at the boat. I called my bank an verified the wire and account were to a legit financial institution. I proceeded with the purchase and signed a purchase agreement, verified delivery location, and warranty/money back agreement.

They sell by Craigslist, EBay and others thru a website that looks like a dealer. After offering the product and warranty, they ask you to make a money wire to Oscar Latrans Corporation. They get your money, simulate a tracking like system that automatically stop after shipped product and delivery never arrive.

Website seemed very legit. Quick response and clarity to all concerned. After I received an invoice they mailed for my to pay for my equipments ( construction vehicles). I went to the bank to do the wire when the young lady at the front desk asked if I did due diligence on checking the security of the seller. I spent an hour in the bank doing research, didn’t come with anything much but left the bank to home and further me research before I wire $20k plus. When I got home I spent all day trying to come up with something that raised a red flag when suddenly I say the same machine that was offered for sale to me on another site, almost $10k more expensive.

On the live chart with the so called sale agent from that fraud company, I gave him the website and item number and asked him to explain. After 10 seconds, my screen refreshed and I got a 404 error. He was gone and I was unable to refresh any other active screen.

Lesson learned: if the price is too good to be true, most likely it’s NOT.

If there being over accommodating, that’s a RED flag.

If you can’t get anyone on the phone number provided, big RED flag.

If you can’t view the item and instead told after receiving you have 7 days to return for full refund!! RED flag

Always google search the item including any information you have. Also check images to see if it’s listed somewhere else.

I was lucky I dodged the bullet.
