I am writing to you to let you know about a situation that happened with a company called Infinity Travel, which is connected to our flight booking with Allegiant Airlines for a trip to Florida in February 2025. My sister Mary accidentally entered my aunt's date of birth as 1941 instead of 1943. When my aunt called Allegiant to correct this, she was provided with a phone number (804-853-9001) that led her to Infinity Travel.
My aunt was charged $99 to change a single digit in her date of birth, despite an initial attempt to charge her $299. After her debit card did not go through, she used a credit card. When I later spoke with the representative, who identified himself as Matthew and had an Eastern Indian accent, he acted as if he was doing us a favor. He initially offered to refund $50, which we declined, and my aunt subsequently disputed the charge with her credit card company.
Matthew later stated he would refund the $99 but insisted my aunt accept the reverse charge via email, agreeing not to dispute anything further. This situation raises serious concerns about fraudulent practices, especially since it seems that someone at Allegiant provided the fraudulent contact number.
I believe this matter requires investigation, and I appreciate your attention to this issue.
