Type of a scam: Identity Theft

Phishing/fraud/scam message trying to get an urgent callback

They (Melanie) left a message to my dad, on MY phone, telling him to call the county, which they specified correctly in northern Minnesota, about a civil complaint he filed and to make sure he would be home to receive the documents. They said its important he called back today. Classic signs of phishing for either identity theft and or to get account information. He has no civil complaint on file, and neither him nor I called back. Besides, first red flag was that they used my phone to call when he has his own.

It sounds legitimate, but far from it. I recommend NEVER engaging with these thieves or they will likely keep trying.

Called both my brother and father claiming to have legal documents for me and when I called them back in an effort to debunk their claim and tell them that this was harassment they got super defensive when I wouldn't give them social security number or anything else. I'm sorry but people who work for these groups should all burn in hell they are the dregs of society

They called my son, and when he didn't play the game they called me, his mom.
THEN they called his brother... when I called back and asked questions, he got super indignant with me and hung up.
I agree with the other poster... people who do this type of harassment should rot in Hell.

A voice mail was left on my sister's phone saying that I owe money. I called them back and they had my name, DOB, and social. They were trying to convince my that I wrote bad checks and that legal actions will be taken. I didn't fall for it and am posting this and reporting it instead.
