A representative from a 'Process Server' contacted me about serving my husband and wanted to know if he was home. She said that she would stop the service if he would call the company serving the legal notice. When he called, a representative started using high pressure tactics, threats and lies to try and collect a debt more than 20 years old. The amount of the debt was stated as 13,717.94 but the representative said they would settle for an immediate payment of $4,720 but only if the amount were paid by cashier's check or credit card immediately. The representative threatened legal action, wage garnishment, seizure of assets for a debt charged off more than 20 years ago by my spouse before we were married. He threatened and harassed by follow-up emails.
