My son received in the mail a notice for payment. It was an Alabama UCC Statement Form telling him he needed to pay $98 service fee. After doing some digging online I found that the website [email protected] with an address at 7956 Vaughn RD #380, Montgomery, AL 36616. I found that the mailing address was a UPS store and when I googled the website it told me that it was a scam and that the actual website is sos.alabama.gov and the mailing address is a PO Box in Montgomery. What I found is that the Alabama Secretary of State doesn't send out notices asking for payment because payment is made when filed and is around $20. I found on their website the actual form that was filed with the company.

I received a First Class Letter from AL UCC Statement Servicer, 7956 Vaughn RD #380, Montgomery, AL 36116. Enclosed was a official looking form entitled Alabama UCC Statement Service Termination Request Form 2023. Requesting Statement Fee $90.00 to terminate an actual loan I did have and closed four years ago.
