May 11, 2021 AMZ Digimart Scam: While authorizing one of my smart tvs for Amazon Prime, the code which pops up on the tv screen and normally directs you to go to the amazon website site (via phone or computer) for certification looked very normal. I have done this before to authorize Amazon Prime on my other smart tv's. However after keying in the code on the site, you are asked call a phone number. I called and the person who answered told me he could help with authorizing Amazon Prime on my smart TV. Before he could do that he informed me that my Amazon subscription needed to be renewed and that the one year subscription had been replaced by a two year or five year plan. When I questioned the need to renew it with him, he told me that there had been security issues and I could not renew online. I gave him my RBC Visa and he processed a two year subscription charge of $137 against my Visa account. He then managed to set up a new code on the smart TV (He had control of the smart tv screen) which I was able to certify on the email site he sent me to enter the new code. The Smart TV is now authorized. Damn these guys are good! I have since cancelled my Visa and changed my Amazon passwords. I was scammed for $137. I spoke with both Amazon Canada and US. They are aware of the AMZ Digimart scam but would not offer any real help. The phone numbers provided by AMZ Digimart 833-983-0325 and 408-883-1370 dead end and ring busy. I have contacted my bank (RBC) and will work with them to issue a dispute against the scam charge once it clears the bank in a couple days. RBC is a aware of this scam pertaining to Amazon Prime and they also told me there is a similar one pertaining to Roku streaming device.

While trying to activate Amazon Prime on our brand new Smart TV, my husband mistakenly followed directives from man that popped up on the TV screen, directed him to call him at a phone number he gave to my husband. Husband gave him a debit card number to pay $169.99 for 5-year subscription to what my husband thought was Amazon Prime. It was not! Trying to figure out how we can get reimbursed for this scam!

On my smart TV a screen never seen before popped up when I tried to look for a movie on Amazon Prime. It said I have to go to my computer and enter the code displayed on the smart tv. After doing that it had me call a phone number, which I dont recall, and they said my Amazon Prime subscription had expired. They sounded legitimate so I renewed for 2 years at $219.99. But after several days it haunted me as I thought our prime membership renewed automatically. So I checked with Amazon and sure enough our membership had renewed in March and no $219.99 payment shows up anywhere at Amazon. Amazon said I had been a victim of a phishing fraud.

On January 14th we were billed $273.68 to our Visa with the pitch that we would have paid for our Amazon Prime for 5 years! My Bad. I was busy with something else and my husband took the call. Of course, my husband was asking me to verify, and because I was doing something else, I wasn't my usual cautionary self. I can't remember what was said that made me think they were legit...I just know (now) that Amazon Prime memberships are NOT made that way. BEWARE FOLKS!

I have Amazon Prime TV. On April 16, 2021 I attempted to register/activate my subscription on another TV in my home. I went directly to the Prime TV app on my TV. It instructed me to go to the site Amazonmytv.com/activation and enter the code which appeared on my TV screen. I did so on my cell phone and my TV screen changed and a phone number appeared with a message instructing me to call the number shown to verify my subscription. I called the number and a women identifying herself as Nancy an Amazon representative answered. She said my subscription was up for renewal, which it was, and that my debit card on file expired, which it had. She said they had a new plan for loyal customers and offered me a one time payment of $199 for life. She knew my name, address, last 4 numbers of my debit card as well as what I pay for my yearly Amazon Prime subscription so I did not question the validity since I went directly to what my Prime TV screen app was instructing. She verified my name and address and asked for my new debit card number and expiration date which I gave her with confidence in believing I was dealing with an Amazon Prime Representative. She gave me a new code which I entered and my subscription on my TV became active. She said I would receive an email confirmation of my payment and a document to sign as well as a number to call with any issues (833-485-0077 Nancy #404). I received from Amazon.com an email message stating that my Amazon password was changed ( somewhere logged in, in India). Another document from Amazon_Digimart to sign (which I did not do). No where was there a receipt of payment for $199 for lifetime subscription for Amazon Prime! I checked on my Amazon Prime account for change of plan...it was not there. This sent a sinking feeling in my stomach so I called Amazon Prime directly and was told it was a scam and they have no such plan! I quickly changed my Amazon password and deactivated my card...unfortunately they were quicker than I so the transaction went thru. I told the true Amazon representative of my issue and was sent an email from Amazon Prime that they would be investigating. I went to my bank and had my old debit card cancelled and started a consumer fraud investigation. I called the number given to me by digimart and a very rude man answered. I told him I suspected consumer Fraud and alerted him to my investigation. He responded saying I signed the document which I had not. He didn't even know my name and kept insisting I signed the document. Frustrated, I hung up. My bank is investigating. I considered myself smart on avoiding scams but this one is very clever... Be aware!

The same thing happened to me. I went to access my Prime video and a message came across my tv screen. I had to call a number and get a new access code. Stupid me called the number and was told that Amazon did not have $7.99 per month subscriptions anymore or the $79.99 annual subscriptions either. I was told that if I wanted a Prime membership I would have to pay either $149 US for a 2 year membership or $329 US for a 5 year membership. I was also told once I paid these people I would then get a code to access my Prime Video channels. I chose the 2 year option which cost me $198.03 cad. I was also told that they would send me an email confirmation of my payment to them. Which I never received. After I paid this person it didn't sit right with me so I called Amazon.ca and was told they did not offer such plans and I was just scammed. Now I'm dealing with my credit card company to get the money back. Please Beware Scammers are everywhere.

We changed to Shaw Blue Curve for out internet and TV. When trying to set up my Amazon Prime it came up with a code and pH # to call. The operator led me to believe my membership had expired (it had not) and sold me a renewal for 3 years. Later when checking my Amazon Acct I discovered it had not expired and it did not reflect any renewal. I had to open a fraud investigation and cancel my cc.

In February, 2021 I tried to access my Prime TV and it came up with a code to input and a phone # to call to activate. I did those things and spoke with a representative who offered me a one time fee of $99.99 US so that after 6 months of regular billing, I wouldn't have any further charges. After talking to Amazon today it turns out this is a SCAM! Because I interacted with the caller it is probably not possible to get my money refunded. Beware folks, and watch your CC for any further charges from this company. If they show up, call your bank right away and those charges will be likely be reimbursed to you. Also, realize that if any charges show up that you don't know, call your bank. It would make sense that they won't use the same company name as Digimart.

The same thing happened to me. Very slick operation. I was sure I was dealing with Amazon! They basically had control of my television! Crooks!

I got a code and called the number on the tv and the guy told me he would send me a new code.Cost me $149.99 US.I called back to the number he gave me to cancel. He told me it would take 4 to 5 days to get my refund. After the 4 to 5 days nothing. So I called the first number that was on the tv and the girl told me that it was processed and I would get it in 2 to 3 days. It’s been over a week and still nothing. This was through my new tv LG.I’m starting to wonder if I’ll see my $149.99 US which is 194.00.
