received an email stating order confirmation for a $430 American Express gift card purchase with an email recipient [email protected] the email stated if you have not authorized this call 1800 969 8039. When I called the 1 800 number they told me the email recipient is in Florida and asked me if I know anyone in Florida, told them "no" and was instructed to go to website www. support.me.com , when I told them this sounds like a scam and want to speak to a manager who's first language is English they laughed and hung up. The caller id for the 1 800 number said The Learning Zone Belmont.

Scammer's phone1-800-582-4800 Scammer's addressGA, USA CountryUnited States Victim LocationGA 30809, USA Type of a scamCredit Cards
On today March 23, 2021 @ 2:00 I received a call 1-800-582-4800 with an individual stating he was from American Express Fraud Dept and that they received an alert of possible fraudulence activity on my AmEx in the amount of $1000.00 in Florida, $200.00 at an Applebee's in Florida and $800.00 in a Target in Florida. The individual started to ask pin pointed questions and the first was my old address from three years ago. The second was the individual stated he needed to check with his supervisor in the back room????? and the third red flag was that the back sound(sounded like a enclosed room with poor recepition). Finally, i hould up the phone and call the real AmEx customer service and the rep confirmed the real customer service number. I requested the real rep to cancel old card and issue a new one. Please be advise of the scam... Still not sure how the person got my information. Thanks for letting me share this information.
