Got this today, knew it was a SCAM no one legit simply sends money BEFORE a job is done! I wanted to add pictures as what I received is slightly different than most pictures already here. Different email address, different phone number, etc so that if someone does a Google search based on the new scammer email address and/or phone number it brings them here.

I received 3 USPS Priority Mail envelopes yesterday. In each envelope there was a letter from Ardent Service Inc Survey Program with "Your First Assignment Details" and a Cashier's Check made payable to me for $2,850 from TwinStar Credit Union. One Cashier's Check was from First Business. The instructions were to deposit each check into my bank account and then go buy $2,500 worth of AM EX Gift Cards - stating I would be compensated with the remaining $350 from each check. They wanted me to confirm receipt of the package by emailing [email protected] or text to 202-384-6168.

Once I purchased the cards, the letter asked that I take a picture of the front and back of the card and email the photos to the provided email and/or text it to the number.

There are names on 2 of the the checks in the memo section: Candy Phillips. On the other check check it says Remitter Tevon Henry.

Needless to say, I did not respond and I am not depositing these checks or buying gift cards. I just wanted to make others aware- they look very real and the fact that it came in USPS Priority Mail was also very convincing.

Please be careful and do not act on these if by chance you receive one in the mail.

I applied for secret shopper job and I didn't hear anything until today when priority mail envelope arrived with letter and 3 check's for 2850.00 to purchase Amex gift cards. Was asked to take pictures of front and backs of all card's without asking to scratch off the backs. Said keep cards for next job. Friend said this is a scam so I checked right here on Google.

I got a $2,850 check with an attached letter asking me to take the check and deposit it into my bank only, then go to certain retail stores and buy AMEX cards with said money and I can keep $350! I am definitely not an [censored] and I know how secret shopping is carried out. Attached is photos of the contents of the package.

I just got one identical to yours today and I drew up a red flag when it wanted me to buy gift cards. So I looked up the survey program which I filled out for Kroger which is Fry's in my area and nowhere in this letter mentions anything about Kroger so yep what a big scam this is I hope they get caught and shut down before somebody really does fall for this and does this for them thank you for your info

Just like the rest of us I thought this was legit because I work at a grocery store and we do get secret shoppers. So I thought why not make a extra few bucks or so I thought and now I just received a check and like most of us how we got it in the mail is scammer like feeling and we were all right because I looked it up like come on now scammers we do know how to use google lol .

Got this in the mail yesterday and a text from a Coleman Smith telling me to text to confirm that I received the package and to use the money from the check to buy $2500 worth of AMEX GIFT CARDS which right there gave me a red flag bc people have tried to get money from me doing this gift card thing before. My “compensation” would be the $350 extra dollars from the check and it says if I complete the assignment today I will be GUARNTEED AN EXTRA BONUS OF $200 for the next assignment! HAHAHA Sorry but you ain’t gettin me! People like this need to be investigated, SHUT DOWN AND JAILED for scamming hard working people!

Another red flag was the application I filled out was for KROGER and not one time was Kroger mentioned in this letter.

I did apply for the job of secret shopper. This time the ad really looked legit. But as soon as I got the package I knew right away it was a fake. The minute gift cards were mentioned and when I was told not to let the bank or the cashier at the store know what I was doing. Red flags everywhere. Also when I held the check up to a light their was no water mark and their are supposed to be some kind of lines running thru the check they were not their neither. Here is the text message I received from Mr Coleman Smith.

Good Morning Shopper, I.m Coleman Smith from Kroger survey project (KSP), the application you signup for online as been approved and would like to inform you, the package for your first assignment as been mail out to your address via US postal service, it would be delivered in mail on or before Wednesday/Saturday. We need you to be on the look-out. Lastly, Text okay to confirm.

Got this check in the mail today for 2,850.00 for a survey for Amex gift cards i know its a scam because they have tried to do it before so what do i do about this? It says to send pictures of the front and back of the gift cards and to deposit this money in my bank account i was going to take it to a check cashing place to check it out because it seemed like a scam.

Well I just received a check of $2,850 N like the other people the same thing but I wasn't about to go to the bank and deposit the check. I automatically knew it was a scam,my intuition told me to investigate it N thank God for Google.i found what I was looking for, N it was a scam ,so here I am reporting it cuz these people aren't suppose to be scamming people. What do I do with it,do I tear it up ,so no one can try to cash it ?

Received it in the mail today. Address on postage slip says INTEMAR logistics Inc. While Tapco credit union is indeed a real entity their routing number does not match that of the check.This is unsolicited

I too received a check for $2850.00 and instructions from Ardent Service, Inc. to deposit the check at my bank, buy Amex gift cards, take pictures and send back a report via text and email. I was to keep $350 for me and use the cards for upcoming assignments. Of course I did not attempt to deposit the check. They sent me a text verifying I received the envelope (sent priority mail). I ask for more info about the company but of course no response. What a scam. Do people really have nothing better to do in life? Shame on you. Today is Christmas Eve and you are definitely on Santa’s “naughty list”! ?

I received a package in the mail today 11/29/2020 when I opened it, there was a check for $2850 and a letter saying to depoist the check withdrawal the funds and purchase Walmart, target, Walgreens etc gift cards scratch the back and send pictures of the front and back of each card.$350 that i could keep. I knew it was a scam as soon as I seen the check. Do I suppose to report them or what?

I was one of the [censored]es that did applied online for a secret shopper job. So when I received the check in the mail I was really excited about doing this job. Well I didn't have a bank account so I went straight to the bank where it was from. I told the bank teller how I got this check and I didn't know if it was real or not. So I wanted her to check it for me. {i was honest to her} she said oh yeah no problem I need to go ask my supervisor. Next thing I know, it was like swat entering the bank to through me down on the floor like I was robbing the bank. In front of customers. I never been so embarrassed in my life. To top things off it was across the street from my job. Then they put me in handcuffs and made me stand in front of the bank for a good hour. Then they hauled me to jail costs me 1795.00 to get out of jail. Had to go to classes and now have a record of fraud forgery of a check. I cant be a foster parent now which was my dream. All because of this stupid checks like this. So if you think about doing something like this think twice. This was very damaging to my life! Not worth it.

Just like all of the other complaints, I rcvd a check for 2,850.00, 350.00 is supposed to be my compensation. I'm supposed to deposit the check into my bank immediately, report that I have received the package and that I have deposited the check at [email protected]/text (202-384-6168), and then go to WALMART, WALGREENS, TARGET, OR BESTBUY, purchase 5 $500 Amex cards, take pictures of front and back and send to gmail and text asap. I was not born two minutes ago. This is clearly a scam, which I WOULD be on the hook for with MY BANK, WHEN MY BANK WOULD TRY AND GET PAYMENT FROM THIS FAKE, FAKE, FAKE CHECK. Shame on whoever is doing this.
