A lady called and tried to collect on a supposed debt from over 20 years ago that was approximately $2000. She gave me the name of the company - NEVER HEARD OF IT! It never showed up on a credit report. She also used my last name from my first marriage which ended in 2000. She threatened garnishment, taking property etc. Just ridiculous

Same as everyone above except they told my wife they were trying to deliver a prescription and needed to talk to me. Something is definitely not right here. Calling me about something 15 years ago. I do not have records that far back or even remember. Hopefully their line about going to court is a bluff. I know there is a statute of limitations. Filed a BBB complaint.

They Called me and my Sister trying to harass me, and threatening legal actions. Oh yeah, I did get the package was returned, and that a confirmation number would be needed. The number used 855-924-0146. Is there any laws that would prevent these UNCIRCUMCISED PHILINSTINES from continuing to bother us?!

Called stating that documents had been returned. That I needed to call with a file number. Then said it was from 13 years ago a pay day loan or something.
Wanted me to pay 1929.90. Told them I had have to speak with my lawyer.
They couldn’t give me any information about the case.

Arnold Baker and Associates keep calling me stating I owe money for late mortgage payment. The problem is I sold the property in question and paid my mortgage in full 2 years ago.. when I ask for their firm name and address they say I would have to confirm personal info in order to receive info on the firm and any docs they have for me.
Their number is 855 924 0146.

I received two voicemails at two different numbers stating that ABA was retained to deliver certified documents that were returned from the address on file and to avoid further legal complications I needed to call them today. I took the bait and returned their call. The representative stated the documents they were trying to deliver were in regards to a case pending against me for medical expenses incurred in 2009! I did NOT agree to pay them anything and asked that they email documentation. What they sent was a docusign agreement which included request for payment information. Of course, I did not do agree or provide any information.

The statute of limitations for medical debt in my state is 2 years! Nice try Arnold, Baker and Associates!

I have provide all details regarding the matter and documentation received to the Attorney General for my state.

If you receive a call from ABA - please contact the attorney general in your state!

They just called me with this sane info for something back in 2009

I know that there are 1,000s of us that a experiencing this. I am wondering if it would be possible to file a class action lawsuit. I found the following information below.

Besides reporting them, you can sue a collector in a state or federal court. You'll need to file your lawsuit within one year of when the collector broke the law. If you lost wages or had medical bills because of the things the debt collector did, you can sue for those damages.

I received a message on family members phone. I called back with the reference number. I was told that that they were ABA Mediation and they were collecting a debt on behalf of CitiBank. I thought it was a scam. My credit score is excellent. I was told that it was not a scam and that they would proceed with legal action. I could not find any information about them online. I called back and was given the name Arnold Backer And Associates. Any debt they are attempting to collect is from 2010 and past the statute of limitation.
Do not sit back to see what happens next. Be proactive. File a complaint with your AD the CFPB and thE BBB. They will file a default judgement against you and take money out of you account, take your vehicle, put a lien your property or garnish your wage; even though the debt is past the statute of limitations
Here is their contact information: Arnold Baker And Associates 877-431-4003, 2375 E. Camelback Rd, Phoenix AZ 85016. This is the number they called from when I was told they were ABA Mediation 855-701-0047

Received a call and a recording left a voicemail stating to call a different number back and that it my official notice that I have been served. I called the number given and a woman answered the phone. She looked up my account with my phone number and verified my name, dob, ss#, spouse name, and the year/make of the current car registered to me and the date the collection was removed from my credit. The date of the debt was 2015 and wanted me to make a settlement offer, I did not acknowledge the debt or make an offer. She responded that my taxes or wages would be garnished, or a lien would be put on my car if I didn't pay. Finally, she ended with she would give my response in the court and it would be on the discovery and I could respond to it. When I asked what to expect next she hung up.

Same thing happened to me last week, gave me 1 day to respond, wouldn’t give me the 123 Cash Now loan acc or documentation, just they were 3rd party mediator collecting a debt for 500 I took out. Never did it, ran a credit report, nothing there. Said judge will full I will owe 5,000 if I wait. Her name was Mia, gave me no documents, said I was served a month ago but no one home. A debt collector must provide docs, acc #s and signatures. Of course the they had all my info, and I foolishly said that was me. I wonder if they followed up suing anyone on here?

Received a call from Arnold Baker and Associates today. Spoke with a rep who used big scary terms through the call, "mitigation", "lein", "garnishment", "judgment", etc. Definitely seems like an attempt to scare people into paying on debts that can no longer be collected on by law. Wouldn't email me anything without me making a pay-off offer, but then said I didn't sound serious and he wasn't going to waste his time.

First was a black guy saying I needed to call 855-537-6001 with a reference number, and that he was a 3rd party calling on their behalf. Called that and a white lady sounded like a phishing expedition... going way back on info like when you log into credit report and have multiple choice answers.
She said there a past due amount for $654.09 and incl legal fees $1989.38 - total. I asked the date of the claim and she said Aug 23, 2002. 21 years ago! This is not legal, and the statute of limitations for debt collection is 4yrs. The final question was to verify which address I lived at. This is why I thought they were trying to answer the multiple choice for stealing identity or fraud.
I told them to send to both addresses, not specifying which. BUT, they had my SSN last 4, my new phone number, and I missed the previous vehicle "option" because they "weren't sure if it was the car or truck", so I ended up answering that one before I asked when the claim was for.
Get ready people, this is a much more elaborate scam than what we're used to.
I also looked up their basic website. The domain was registered 9/2022. Barely 5 months ago.
I called the website number and was transferred to the same black guy from the original call who was said he was 3rd party ABA but that is who Arnold, Baker & Associates with the ref# is. He also pulled up my name via the ref#.

I received a call and a voicemail from 2 different numbers. Both of which I could not call back and both of which were detected as "Scam Likely" numbers by my phone service provider. When I called back the number provided in the messages and used the reference number they provided I was told that a certified letter was sent back to them as undeliverable and they are a third party mitigation firm trying to confirm my information and deliver a complaint to me. The man tried to verify my name, date of birth, and last four digits of my social security number. Which I refused to confirm and he refused to provide me with any information regarding the supposed complaint against me. He also said they have a secondary address on file which they sent a letter to through regular mail and it went unanswered. He told me they will move forward with the complaint with out my cooperation and to consider myself served and informed me that I was on a recorded line(This information was not given to me at the beginning of the call). Served with what?! The only information he provided was my name, date of birth and last four digits of my social. He served me with nothing. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he claimed that he is the supervisor and there is nobody else I could speak to. He said if I called back due to the call overflow system I would only get to speak to him again. I believe this is a phishing scam. Trying to collect personal information from me. Time will tell if I receive anything via mail.
