I was corresponding with several breeders about kittens when I realized today that they had sent me photos of the exact same kitten. At that point I had already paid one by PayPal but I was able to cancel the PayPal payment.

We saw and advertisement on social media and requested contact via the seller's website. From there the conversation was mostly via email. After providing delivery information for the kitten, we paid the seller through an on-line direct pay site. Suspicion started when the seller tried to coax us into paying a second time, saying that the first attempt failed. The scam was soon obvious when we were contacted by a "second" company posing as professionals in pet logistics. The logistics company asked for additional charges for a pet carrier suitable for flight. Once the scammers understood that we knew we had been taken in on a con, they continued to call and attempted to intimidate us with threats. We have no idea from where this scam was executed, but almost certainly not from the address information we were provided.
