Bed Bath and Beyond Spoof Reports & Reviews (147)

I got scammed by the Bed Bath & Beyond Facebook ad on Facebook for a total of $136.59. Its really a shame this kind of stuff goes on but I guess I shouldn't be so trusting. I'm surprised Bed Bath & Beyond didn't stop it they must have known.

This scam website is one of the most well-done scam sites I’ve ever seen; it looks and feels just like a real, legitimate online store/website. The site is posing/pretending to sell “Bed, Bath and Beyond Stock Clearance” (presumably due to their recent bankruptcy and subsequent store closings). I originally saw the ad for this website when I was scrolling through my Facebook news feed. The home page on this site appears to include legitimate advertisements, banners, and photos, which were clearly taken directly from the target company’s legitimate website (bedbathandbeyond.com). These banners are advertising “70-90% off” regular store prices due to the company’s close-out sales and clearance deals. However, as I continued browsing their products, I noticed many other concerning red flags throughout their online store. First red flag obviously was the URL link “tonahs.shop” wasn’t the same name as the company who they were posing as. Secondly, once you go through the checkout process and get to the “Payment Information” screen, they don’t offer bank-level encryption, nor does it offer the same options for accepted payment methods that they claim to offer at the bottom of every page AND under their “Payment Method” page, such as using PayPal as a payment method. Third red flag was the unrealistically low prices on items for sale, such as a smart home rotating shoe sterilization cabinet, which was discounted down to $9.99 on this site, but these usually cost around $400-$700 new. Fourth red flag was emojis at the beginnings and ends of product names. Fifth red flag was that their products category names were out-of-the-norm; such as “Water park” being the name of the category with outdoor swimming pools, water toys, and pool accessories. Sixth red flag was their company name and address listed under the “contact us” page was an international address in the UK. And the list of red flags goes on!

Online store posing as a legitimate retailer (Bed Bath and Beyond) and offering discounted merchandise and free shipping for household items. There is no merchant information in the order summary and no way of contacting the company with consumer questions or concerns. No shipping or tracking information was received after placing the order online.

Facebook ad purporting to be Bed Bath & Beyond warehouse clearance. The only location info is that it will be shipped from California. No phone number or address.

Impersonating a business

On Facebook, it was identified as a Bed Bath and Beyond close out final sale. All products were discounted. When I checked out, the payment did not go to a BB&B site, but to

www.suewat.com. Then an email with a confirmation number directed all correspondence to the website [email protected].

A post on FaceBook brought myself and a friend to the site Prudencei.shop where I placed a order for three chairs and a two man tent. Afterwards I received a order confirmation from Bed Bath & Beyond showing a confirmation number of ********. later I checked to see if there was a date of shipment only to find the entire site was gone. I performed a fraud search and found it to be a scam. To check on my order I was given the email of [email protected], I sent a message that was returned "undeliverable". Now the same email shows an address to check on my order as [email protected]. I have not attempted to email this person.

On July 3rd, 2023, I saw an ad on Facebook for Bed Bath and Beyond. The "Store" is going bankrupt, and they were offering up to a 90% discount on all merchandise. I placed an order (******** order number) for several items, totaling $52.18. The order was submitted on July 7, 2023, and I received a confirmation email from, supposedly, Bed Bath and Beyond. However, the payment method was Asiabill (direct). Any attempt to contact the store gives an error 404. The contact email could be the actual phishing virus, so I have not selected it. This bill led to an overdraft fee on my account.

I paid $42.71 for an order of, I believe was 6 items. I received and order number but never any responses when I asked for an estimated delivery date. Also no tracking number. Says payment method Asiabill (direct). Looks like the e-mail was from bed bath and beyond but had another e-mail of [email protected]

I placed an order which I thought was with bed bath and beyond on 7/3/2023, and was tracking the order until 7/11 and at that time tracking stated that the order was preparing for shipment. On 7/12 when I went to track the order the page said safari cannot open the page because the server was not found. The page was

https://www.prudencei.shop. I emailed the address I found on the bottom of my order page-

Need Assistance? Talk to us.

We'll do everything we can to make sure you love your experience with us. Have any questions or feedback? Contact us at [email protected] ?

This email was sent by ?Bed Bath & Beyond?

I received no response, at which time I was on line and read other peoples stories about how they never received their orders.

I contacted my credit card, to dispute the charge.

Facebook ad on marketplace posing as Bed Bath & Beyond. Scammer made attempts to make their site look as closely to Bed Bath & Beyond as they could including copywriting their logo.

The site posed as Bed Bath and Beyond clearance sale. After I made the purchase I looked for my confirmation. I noticed another company name. Next day I realized there was no tracking information. The company name is Ciutyf.shop I looked it up and found it to be a scam.

When I found the website, I was on Facebook. The website looked legitimate and was advertised as a sale for Bed Bath & Beyond. The prices were very low so I decided to go ahead and order stuff. I ended up spending 56 dollars. While making the purchase I looked up the BB&B website to see if there were any other sales but the website (the real BB&B website) wasn't there. It was telling me that the website would return soon. I assumed this was because they were closing and continued with my purchase. After making the purchase I asked around and looked into to website only to realize that it was a scam. They sent me two emails about my purchase. When I went back to the website to contact them and see if I could get my money back all the pages kept saying "404 not found" and "the page your looking for doesn't exist". In the email's sent I clicked on the security details and the link in the details was also a illegitimate link. I have pictures of the emails and even the page I got after making my purchase. It seems so real but i'm worried that I won't get my money back and that they now have my card info, my email, and my phone number.
