Change Postal Address Reports & Reviews (30)

When you search for USPS Change of Address, this website comes up and walks you through the change of address process appearing to be USPS. Then at the end you finish and expect to be charged the $1.05, but you get the activity alert and they charge you $89.90.

Be very careful. Credit card notified and request for refund was filed with their contact email.

When I Googled "change mailing address", this website was the second result therefore it appears to be reputable. After filling out my information, I was charged $89.95. This website is seemingly legitimate, but upon further inspection is completely fraudulent. It is too soon to tell if my account will be hacked further, however, I will be requesting a new debit card from my bank to prevent further scams.

I wanted to change my mailing address and i types in usps change address. Not looking at the site name and just reading the description i thought i was going on the usps website. I filled out my form and checked my bank account to see it the dollar was taken out and noticed it was a $90 charge. I just assumed it was a held charge and id get it back but as i thought about it something told me to look at the site address. After seeing it wasnt usps i immediately knew it was a scam.

This is a website that claims to change your USPS mailing address. They took my information and debit card information and withdrew $89. It turns out this is not the real USPS website. Apparently this has happened to people before and they lost the same amount of money on this website. Can you please help out?

Website made to look like US Postal Service website for address change and comes up with Google search for "USPS address change". Charged $89.95 fee (should be $1.05 from post office). Did not notice fee because it was in fine print (designed not to be noticed) or it may not have been there at all. Only discovered after received credit card statement. No email was sent summarizing the charge (clearly this was by design as such email confirmation would immediately alert victim that they had been duped).

- Santa Monica, CA, USA

This website looks very similar to the USPS address change website and collects your information for USPS mail forwarding. Then, it charges your account $79.95 instead of the $1.05 USPS cost to forward mail.

- Clarion, PA, USA

This company is despicable. I am moving and typed in "USPS forwarding address." This is the first to come up, it has USPS in its name, and completely mimics the official USPS website. I 100% thought I was on the official website, I filled in my info and on the second page it asked for my credit card info. I remembered this was needed on the USPS site from my last move and so I didn't question it, and assumed the next page would ask me to confirm all my info and the charge before actually charging me. But no, as soon as you put in your card and hit enter, they charge you $79.95. This process is supposed to cost $1 through the USPS, and they purposely mimic the site to pray on people who are in a hectic and scrambled place due to the moving process. I realized only after seeing the charge from my bank account and returning to the website that if you scrolled all the way down, tiny grey letters tell you that entering your information means accepting the $79.95 charge. This is the only place they tell you about that charge, and they know most people--especially those tired from moving--will miss it. Absolutely make sure you are on the official USPS website if you are moving, and read the fine print to double check.

Was trying to complete a change of address for USPS, was directed to this site online! Said would charge $1.05 for online use , charged $79.95!

Submitted all my personal information

I tried to change my address. I type usps and the first result that popped up was change your address. Clicked on it and it said change postal address. Asks if it a temp move or permeant. Family or individual. Old address to new address. Even tells you it is only $1.05 to update the address change. After the changes are made takes you to payment screen. Because it said on first page only 1.05 I went ahead and add cc information. Once payment was approved it charged my card 79.95. I only had 80.00 in my account for the week. Tried to cancel charge but because it was in pending status would not allow me to. Tried to contact customer service within the website and only allows you to add your email address and comments. Moving is stressful enough even more so when you were wrongfully evicted. this website is a total scam.

When you search USPS address change on the internet, this website shows up in the top of the search. When you go to the site, they almost make it look as if it’s the official USPS website. You go through the steps to provide your personal information first. Then it asks you to click on the check box saying “By checking the box to the left and clicking the "CONTINUE" button below, I agree to both the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy of this site.” However the the box is already preselected. There is no price information anywhere and when you go to the next step to enter your credit card information, there is a disclaimer on the bottom with small wording stating that they’d charge you $79.95. This information is written so small with bunch of other disclaimers, and not clearly displayed. I only noticed the issue after trying to submit the second request for my partner using my credit card information which did not go through since the name on the card did not match with the person changing the address. The website is really deceiving to make it look like it’s the official website. I immediately realized the issue and submitted to dispute the charge to my credit card company. I’ve also sent a cancellation request as well as cancelling the address transfer request through the official USPS website making sure the request did not come from me. However, the charge and the dispute is currently pending. I’m also concerned that my information would be disclosed to anyone or 3rd party companies. Once you submit one contact message to the company, they won’t allow you to send a second message under their ‘Contact Us’.

site mimics USPS site but charges $79.95 for an "address change"

This is not a government change of address site. Their ad appears at the top of the search engine when "change of address" is searched. They charged me $80 before I realized.

- Indianapolis, IN, USA

Posed as the website to change your mailing address online. Charged $80 after saying it only costs $1.05 and doesn't change the address.

- Nashville, TN, USA

This is a scam website about address changes

I went online to charge my mailing address and went to an official looking site the next day I look and see almost 80$ taken from my account for no reason

- Findlay, OH, USA

I went to change my address online, as I have just moved, and this is the website Google brought me to, it didnt tell me it was going to charge me 79.99, as it looked like the actual USPS website I believed it would only charge me the $1.75 that they typically charge

This website is the first hit on google when searching "USPS change of address." It even advertises as "official" and only for $1.05. At first glance, the website is a pretty solid copy cat of the actual USPS change of address site. It has you put in your info, included cc info for the small fee, and they you get hit with a hefty $60 charge. They don't provide any service, and their only way of contact is a form. I have filed that out and am waiting for a response.

Change Postal Address is a fraudulent company that posted a very similar USPS MyMove mail forwarding website. They are the first search on Google for all mail forwarding searches, have a misleading identical layout to the official USPS site, and will charge $79.95 to your card(s) for services.

- Evans, GA, USA

The website comes up in a search for changing your address. The website looks just like USPS' website. It even tells you that you will be charged $1.05 to verify your identity before changing your address. After entering your credit card and confirming the transaction, the fine print at the bottom of the screen informs you that this website is independently owned and that you will be charged $79.95 for their services.

- Raleigh, NC, USA

Website is made to like official USPS change of address site. Does not give any indication of billing or billing amount but when you "verify" your identity for address change the card provided is billed $79.95 instead of $.01. Many people will not notice the charge and will lose $80.
