I wasn't paying attention and went to the first google search to go and change my address with USPS. It was too late before I realized it was a scam and saw an $80 charge to my account.

When you search for change of address, this and several others sites come up. This site tricks you into thinking you are making an address change with the post office, then charges you $79.95. When you try to contact them, they provide no phone number or email address, only a contact form, which they don't respond to. I realized I was duped when I saw the charge. USPS only charges $1 just to verify your identity. I will be filing a dispute with my bank and hopefully I can get my money back. BEWARE! only go directly to USPS website.

As any person will do, a google search to find the usps website holding the online change of address form and this website was the first popping on the search, no disclosure of the fee whatsoever until i check my card statement with a 79.95 fee

- Portland, OR, USA

Posing as a usps change of address site. Charges $59.99 without consent

- Beaverton, OR, USA

This site looks like an official change of address site for USPS and it comes up as the top result for the change of address search. The official USPS site only charges $1.05 for identity verification. This site charged $59.95. They don’t have any contact information like number or physical address. The site looks legitimate but digging deeper shows how fake it is.

- Bend, OR, USA

This website claimed to be a USPS change of address site and ended up charging me 59.00 with no contact phone number to get hold of anyone !! Fraud!!

- Denver, CO, USA

This site popped up instead of USPS and I accidentally entered my personal information before realizing I was on the wrong site. The site tried to charge nearly $60 for a simple change of address. Thankfully my credit card company caught it and denied processing the request.

- Seattle, WA, USA

I googled “usps change of address” and clicked the first link without thinking. At the top of the page it said USPS address change so I filled out the information. I thought it was weird that I never saw an amount to be billed but I remembered from previous times moving that it was usually very small, so I didn’t think much of it. A week later I received a charge of $59.95 on my credit card which I’ll be disputing once the banks open.

Scam website that tries to pretend to be USPS and change your address for you at a much increased cost. Do not use.

Same story as everyone else on this subject - I'm moving and need to change my address, so I googled "usps change address" and clicked on the link at the top of the page (USPS was in the title). It was the first search result, and the website didn't set off any red flags and looked official so I didn't question it. Went through the process and submitted. I wasn't suspicious about entering my credit card information because I knew it would be a dollar charge. Then I got a text from my bank that my card had just been charged $50 and realized I was an [censored]. Now I'm freezing my credit card but those aholes have my old and new address so nothing to do about that. It's crazy though because the official USPS website is the 9th choice down when you google "USPS change of address form" so they really need to do something about that.
