What I saw on the site seemed really cheesy, so I did an online search and immediately found the word "scam" associated with the "business." Went from there to BBB.

Upon receiving this, I checked out the site and figured it was a scam. But, sometimes scams aren't *just* money makers and they actually do send traffic to your site and can be a decent lead-generator. So, what the heck, let me ask some questions. I contacted the company to find out more information. What was the award exactly? How were we chosen? Why were we chosen? What did we win? Any metrics to share regarding these great benefits you tout? Need a little more info before I just log on and pay. The response I received was a link to a template page with no details specific to my organization or our specific award. Nope, no go. Avoid. Scam, just a scam, and only a scam.

We received one of these City's Best awards as well. Ironically, we ARE the city. The email was sent to one of the public facing email accounts for our utilities department. The exact content of the message was as follows:

"Hello and I hope that you are having a great day!
My name is Will and I am emailing you to let you know that you have been selected for the 2021 Galt Best Award!
For the next year you will be promoted on our website so anyone searching in the Galt area will find you. We only work with one winner in each major city throughout the US. You will also get a badge for your website, social media graphics, a certificate for the office, press release, and more.

If you receive this message, it is definitely a scam. Just trash it.

Our organization received an email from Will Anderson, a supposed Awards Specialist at City's Best Awards. However, the email it was sent from was [email protected]; on behalf of; Will Anderson .

They included a hyperlink supposedly to the awards page where you could claim your spot but hovering over the link showed a redirect to books4coloring.com, same for the unsubscribe link and their email footer.

Our business received an email claiming we had gotten an award for the city's best for the city of Troy, Michigan. There was a link attached to the email where we were instructed to click to receive the award. Before clicking, I looked up the company and the scams attached to them, and there were MANY other instances where this company was scamming people and businesses into creating an account and paying money to receive this nonexistent award.

Out of the blue I received an email saying my business had won my city’s best award for 2021! I hadn’t entered anything so I got curious. Their website looks legit but my gut still said scam. Toward the bottom of their website is where they finally tell you that you have to pay $299 to claim your award! Even though this screamed scam I continued to research. I can’t find any additional information in this company or award so I have concluded that it is likely as scam!
