COTA-MEDIA.COM Reports & Reviews (3)

Tony Nguyen is a wonderful salesman and did a great job being patient and stalling us as a fantastic ring leader at the cota media circus S&^% SHOW. Tony made numerous false claims, blatantly lied about their operations and time frame, over charged us for services that I later found out were and should have been included on the woocommerce platform for FREE and had horrible communication when issues were brought to his attention.

We signed contracts in December 2022. We were quoted 3month turnaround with go-live date of March. Our site did not go live until June 1st. We were met with constant hurdles and issues and had to constantly re-educate COTA on our asks, products, website design, functionality etc which was compounded by weeks and months of delays and absolute lack of CLEAR AND HONEST communication by developers and Tony himself.

From day one we were told developers were all in house at Irvine, they were not and instead were all based in India and furthermore were completely unfamiliar with our industry and products. We did not have a project liaison or middle man who worked proactively with India team and us at all. We were left to our own devices regularly to follow up and keep tabs on the work to ensure it was getting done.

Every time we brought issues to their attention we had to wait till 10 or 11pm at night to address them in real time using the pastel platform because of the massive time change. Even small changes or issues would take days to get addressed or resolved which was VERY frustrating.

After partnering with a new SEO/Website company we have learned that the website COTA media built's backend is a complete mess "dumpster fire/frankenstein project" because so many aspects were "manually" built instead of using woocommerce included plugins creating pages and pages of unnecessary code to work through when trying to create changes.

When we finally ending things with COTA there were over 20 plugins that had lapsed in being updated, 100's of instances of malware and 5 fake nefarious accounts created from India and Russia contributing to the overall mess our website wasa in.

Furthermore, COTA media told us the images we took of our products were not high quality enough and suggested we use their "in-house photographer". We were charged $3,000 to have these photos taken. The resulting videos and photos taken by this "professional" (we learned this was his part time gig and he just did this on the side and did NOT work for COTA as an inhouse photographer) were not edited or formatted and many of them were missing from our website all together. Several of the images clearly showed the turntable the products were resting on, or were warped when resized to fit the whole piece in the gif image on the website totally distorting the product.

We were also promised 360 videos showing each glass product in every variation/color appear on the website to help differentiate us from our competition. These videos were not on our website and we were told it was due to the "storage issue". Again, over promise under delivered.

Furthermore we were charged an additional $1000.00 to improve our website's page loading service which was NOT a woocommerce issue but a godaddy/webihost issue. Our new SEO/Website company exposed this lie and showed us that the increase speed was actually just increasing the platform program on webihost from basic to advanced which was an additional $100 - $200 charge. When we went to our banking institution to report the $1000 charge to COTA as scam/false we were bombarded with text messages and emails from Tony at COTA Media stating the "issue was valid and had been resolved" and he sent screenshots of speed tests but again this issue was resolved upgrading our web hosting subscription and did NOT cost $1000.

FINALLY - all the bark reviews on his page are FAKE except for 2 that have been verified.

Thanks for submitting this and not even using your real name. See attached for the proof of us winning the case against your bank for the chargebacks. And also attached is proof of us winning the court case against you as well.

You cannot hire a company, use their services for months, then decided to file fake chargebacks. You should be more careful next time as filing fraudulent chargebacks is a federal crime.

Its unfortunate that you took this route to complain how we are scammers yet you have been proven by your own credit card company AND by the court system.

Lawsuit won against this person. This client is currently using the new website, product photos and everything that we were contracted to do for them, THEN tried to chargeback and not pay for our services.

We also won the chargeback from their credit card company as well. This person is the scammer and we will be posting a copy of the judgement won against them shortly.

Another lawsuit for defamation in process.
