We offered to sell an item on Craigslist.com. We were contacted by a buyer who offered to send us a check. When the check arrived it was for much more than the price of the item. We were pressured by text over and over to deposit the check, that the extra funds were for shipping charges to be paid to the person picking up the item.

The check said it was from The Phelps School, the envelope address was Palm Beach, Florida. We did not cash the check. We told the party the sale is off, the check is fake, and not to text us anymore.
