On August 2, 2024 my mom got a call from "Mike" claiming to be with Medicare. He said she was eligible for free medical equipment. He wanted my mom's primary pain management doctor's information to fax him for the "free medical supplies". They never specified what the medical supplies would be. He asked for her personal information like her height, weight, where she has pain, on a scale from 1 to 10 how bad does the pain get, if she has a history of arthritis, if she has high blood pressure or high cholesterol, and other typical medical questions. They also asked for her address. He said they're with CVR PROS and that they'd fax my mom's doctors and once they'd approve, they'd send the supplies to her address free of any charge. They said if we wanted to call them back that we could reach them at 917-382-3187. We saw a post someone else made that went through this exact issue and through that we determined it's a scam so we called her doctors to let them know not to accept any requests from CVR PROS and we called Medicare to let them know as well and I filed a report to the Federal Trade Commission.

We are the patient's primary care doctor. We received paperwork for complex and expensive orthopedic support braces for knees and a back belt. The patient was seen physically in the office 2 weeks prior for an evaluation. I called the patient on Tuesday, March 26th, and made her aware of this request form that raised my suspicion of fraud. The patient confirmed that somebody has been

calling her multiple times offering "no expense" medical equipment and asking for primary care physician information. I explained to the patient that her medicare information/identity had been stolen, and asked her to call Medicare to request a new medicare card (with a new number). The patient agreed to proceed, and I let her know that I would also be reporting this "marketing business" CVR Pros LLC for medicare fraud.

On Thursday, March 28th, I received a call on our office phone number from CVR Pros LLC (phone 917-382-3187), and a female employee asking when the form would be completed and signed. I asked the person if they were really going to provide this medical equipment considering they are a marketing agency in Wyoming, and if the

patient herself asked for this. The female caller doubled down on their lie and answered "yes" to both questions. At this point, it sounded like the female caller knew she was caught and thought

there were no legal repercussions to her actions. I told her that I would report their "business" and asked her not to call our office again.

I just filed a report for Medicare fraud with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Office of Inspector General

My mom went through the same issue your patient went through, with CVR PROS calling her and claiming she was eligible for free medical supplies and that they just needed her primary care doctors information. We reported them to the federal trade Commission and we let her doctors and Medicare know of the scam. It was through this post that I learned that CVR PROS was a scam. So thank you for reporting it and for posting it here to let others know.
