Scammed me out of money for health insurance I tried to get.

- Palm Bay, FL, USA • Jun 27, 2024

Dan Meija called me to help enroll me in government health insurance. He stated I will get Ambetter and it included hospitalization and accidents. The plan sounded really wonderful and he said it’ll be $228.28 a month. I then received two emails. The first was from Ambetter stating my monthly premium is $0 since I just had a baby and very post partum! The second email was from united health that I applied for three policies of life insurance for $228.28. I messaged Dan stating that’s not what I wanted and want it canceled right away! He stated I needed this and refused to cancel. I kept asking him to cancel and he began threatening me! I filed a police report against him and reported his agent number! He canceled my health insurance and this morning I was charged $37.37 from UHC life insurance! Of course I had Chase dispute the charge and future charges from this merchant because I didn’t want this!!!

Brown and Brown Insurance from Daytona Beach, FL posed as my mortgage company and asked me to file my insurance papers. Their letter is deceitful and, I feel, unethical. I will scan and share a copy of this letter with the ScamPulse.com if requested.

My old health insurance will stop serving CA by 12/31/23 so I put on government website looking for new insurance company. This guy called and told me he is working for M and M Insurance Advisor and he can provide me with Blue Shield so I have to give him my credit card number for the first month payment. Then I received an email from [email protected] but the email did not even have my name at all. He told me his name is Brendon and his contact phone number is 888 533 0173 on ext-108.

Scammer is aparently offering to sell insurance but does not identify their company and makes it seem like they are connected to my mortgage broker, by using that company's name. The envelope only has: Presorted Postage Paid Sacramento, CA Permit#1935.

Only other identifier is phone number 1-877-670-3352. FYI I do not know scammer's email, all I have is their letter delivered by usps. I will attempt to upload image of the letter, with my address redacted.

Multiple phone calls, from diffetent numbers offering Medicare benefits.

Received repeated texts with "24 hours left" or "48 hours remaining until coverage is lost" in an attempt to have me call a number to "fix my account info" so my insurance would not lapse. I have private insurance so I called the number and asked for the name of the company and was told the "Health Enrollment Center." I requested to be added to the do not contact list and am still being harassed with daily text messages and scam phone calls. I called again and asked to check the status of my account and provided the member number that was provided to me and was redirected to 3 different people that all told me "let me get you transferred to the right department" and eventually I was on the phone with someone from "Privilege" which I was told is a call center that services several private insurance companies. The rep was unable to locate any info under the member number provided and advised that I was likely transferred to her by a scammer. The phone number I was texted from is +1-(833)-942-4396 and the number I called that was included in the text massage along with my "member number" was (855)-477-1371. I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor and as soon as I asked why I could not locate any info about the company online, I was promptly disconnected. When I asked for a manager I was told "Who disconnected you?" "I'll send them back to Mexico today bro!"

Definitely not a real business and I was told I qualify for Medicaid so that's why I was getting calls.

You get what sounds like a person saying they are a representative of some insurance agency and they ask you if you can hear them alright. When you respond "yes," they have your voice recorded and I guess they use that in some way. I changed my important passwords just to be safe.

Insurance company called and repeatedly asking my age. Then hung up yet can't call number back..

- Columbus, OH, USA

April 14, 2021 I answered my phone and was told that it was something to do with insurance but I had won $9,000. To get this I was asked to go to Krogers or a drug store to get $200 money card from Krogers to let them know the numbers from the back of the card. The call back number is 202-743-1384. I told them I could not go to the store at this time. They wanted me to have my phone and call just a I was to enter the store. Repeated I could not go now and they hung up. I was not going to use my money to buy them anything. There was a man and a woman involved in this scam!

- Pine Island, MN, USA

Answered call that has been interrupting my day to get taken off call list. Robo call asking if I wanted to a specialist for healthcare enrollment. I asked to be taken off list in which it prompted me to say yes to speak to a representative. I got transferred to a “William” and as I was asking to be taken off the list he hung up on me.

Asked if I could hear him alright.

- Lewisville, TX, USA

I was asked for insurance

I said I don’t need any

He said you must have it covered from your employer

I said yes

I said I’ m receiving fake calls

He said he will put me on do not call list

Do not answer this number. They are trying to take money from you in intent to sell you health insurance. They say they are going to send you a quote and when they do they get some uneducated person on the phone to try to take your credit card. do not answer

I keep getting these calls and text messages from these people regarding insurance. They keep telling me that they can get me such great rates. They ask all these questions about my age, my dependents, etc. I try and tell them that we have all the insurance we need and are happy with our current plans. I am tired of getting all these calls.

- Pflugerville, TX, USA

it's about health insurance or mortgage rates and loans over the phone and so this needs to be investigated because it's a scam call and it's flagged in yellow and so it's a scam and fraud that their doing and it's a robo and it's a scam call and so they have been harassing us ever since October 2018 and so I don't know where they are getting my phone number without my permissions and I didn't give them any permissions to call me about that and I want my phone number removed off of their calling list because I don't know this telemarketing company and I never did any business with them and so this needs to be investigated because I want them to leave us alone about that because were not interested in buying that over the phone and it's prerecorded or a live sales call and so this needs to be investigated because I'm so tired of being bothered and harassed about that and they never called in the afternoons and I always hang up when they call and so they never called in the afternoons because they will call everyday around 10:00am in the mornings all the time and so I want my phone number removed off of their calling list because I'm not interested in buying that over the phone and don't call us no more about that.

- Frisco, TX, USA

First a woman called while I was working on updating 2 computers and only had access to a phone that does have problems. She immediately asked "Can you hear me? There is static on the line." Since I was busy, before I remembered the scam, I answered "Yes". She immediately hung up. Within less than a minute, a man called back using the same phone number above and started a spiel to sell me insurance. I hung up on him right away. Then I blocked their phone number. Still kicking myself for not remembering this SCAM.

- Kansas City, MO, USA

Harassing and calling nearly every day. I do not answer. Scammers trying to leave messages about getting affordable healthcare.

- Honey Creek, IA, USA

Operator called I was expecting a phone call from someone else whom I didn't have the number recorded. Answer the call the person said they were Molly and could I hear them I said yes. The person started talking about insurance and I hung up immediately but had already said the word yes

- Lillington, NC, USA

I received a call from the number listed. I answered and the lady said “ hi this is ( I don’t remember the first name given) ”. Then she said “ can you hear me ok”. Then I heard a click, as if she hung up. I said “ hello” and then the voice went into a spill about “everyone needs insurance” . I hung up but realized they were just trying to get me to say “ yes” to their question. This sounded very much like a real person and not a robocall. I was actually waiting for a call from the hospital and thought it was them and i didn’t realize what was happening until it was too late. Not sure how this will be used since it just happened today, but I will be on the lookout!
