In June 2023 I was contacted by Lamar through Facebook to invest in his multifamily fund. My husband and I spoke to him many times over 2 months. We connected in that we were all uga graduates. Eventually I felt comfortable enough to invest. I was only going to do 50k for 12 months at 20%, but Lamar talked me into going up to 75k. So I did. 6 weeks after making the investment, I saw his mage come up on a Facebook thread as a scammed. I reached out to lamar. He assured me that those people were lying and they were paid back. But at this point, all I could do was pray and wait out my 12 months. Once my more came due 8/23/24, it was excuses for why he needed 30-45 more days. I pushed back. He sent me a fraudulent pre-approval letter stating he was securing a heloc against a property he owns. I called the company, they confirmed the letter was fraudulent. Now I have found 20+ people online that have all been defrauded by him as well. So here I am filing whatever I can to keep this man from doing this to others and hopefully get my money back!
