- Los Angeles, CA, USA

Received 2 phone messages saying I am named in a lawsuit for fraudulent IRS filing. Then directed to call these number: (818) 233-8485 and (818) 233-8486. They called on my business phone.

- Lakewood, CA, USA

First number was a man with a heavy middle eastern accent. Wanted all of my information because of Tax Fraud and said I owed the IRS *** dollars. I did not give him any information and told him he should stop scamming people and that he was going to come to my house and arrest me. The second phone number is from a lady with a heavy middle eastern accent and gave her name as Officer Sophia Clark. She said I owed $*** In the second instance I was given this number to call back 530/710-0469 She gave me the option to pay or they would send a police to my house to arrest me. I told her she could send a police officer to my house to arrest me if she wanted to and I let her know that she was a scam and that I was going to report her and this number She hung up on me.

I was told that it was an officer on the other line and that I had to agree to the process. I said that i don’t understand and that i needed them to send me documentation. However, he kept badgering, telling me that I would have immediate action taken against me for not paying and outstanding amount. I didn’t give him any information and asked for his employee ID and credentials, but he kept trying to get me to agree and confirm information. Once I agreed to not moving forward without documentation in the mail, they hung up on me.

They called me saying I am going to be arrested in 24 hours and I have 4 allegations against me. They said I owe $*** in back taxes. They kept yelling at me to answer their question and to say yes or no.

- Rowland Heights, CA, USA

Caller left message stating serious accusation from the IRS have be pressed against me and I must call immediately or the police will be showing up at my doorstep.

- Palo Alto, CA, USA

I was told that there was fraud and misconduct on my tax filing and that I would have to call the "IRS" immediately. I've been called multiple times--and ignore it each time, as it is clearly a scam.

This line called me stating that they are the IRS and they have a search warrant for my arrest because I owed money. They asked for my information IE ssc dob address etc. Which i provided wrong numbers. By the end of the call they stated they will be charging me *** dollars to my card to cover the amount owed. thats when i realized officially that it was a scam.

- Northridge, CA, USA

Got a call this morning from this company/person saying that the IRS has issues with my account and that I have 24 hours to get in touch with them or I would be arrested. The phone number came up with a Florida prefix but could be scamming that also. Hopefully something can be done with these corrupt peoples.

Thanks

Hi

A voicemail was left for me from someone claiming to be the IRS. I called back and a man with a thick Indian accent answered "internal revenue service" and said his name was Jack Hoffman. I asked why he had called and he said I might have a claim against me with the IRS and asked me to give him personal info. I declined and said if he was the IRS he would have all my info. He then hung up.

I keep getting voice messages from a recording saying they are the IRS. They where calling my cell phone and now they are calling my house landline. The computer voice says it's Officer Catherine Hills and that it is time sensitive. That if I choose to ignore the message they will take legal action. I pay my taxes never had any problems with the IRS before. Now they say they have been trying to notify you regarding the issue in the previous 6 months but they never got any response from my end. So, it has been considered as an extensional fraud and lawsuit has been filled in my name by the US Government. I heard about scams of this kind, still if have to wonder. So here I am asking #1. Is this a scam? #2. Answer the phone when they call? #3. Can you make them stop? Here are the phone numbers they have used - 415-800-3287, 415-251-7510, 206-231-0023. I am not what kind of scam type to put. I would assume it's Debt Collections when the letters are IRS. Thank for your time.

Transcription from my cell phone voice mail said, "Investigation team of IRS we have just received a notification regarding your tax filings from the headquarters which will get expired 24 working hours and once again expired after that you will be taken custody by the local cops as there are four serious allegations pressed on your name at this moment...." I have checked online that many people got such IRS allegeation call, and this is totally a fake. Do Not Call Them Back.

Automated call warning me to call the 979 320 6544 or face criminal charges from the IRS. I called back just to see if I'd get a human voice and did. After 30 seconds of me saying nothing they hung up. Then I called back to speak to someone and after answering they hung up on me. When I called again I got the answering machine that said the call has a "follow me" feature and will be rooted to the party. Maybe they wanted to see if I'd respond so they can call me back from somewhere else. Waiting for a call.

A robot generated message is left to call back the IRS at a South Dakota phone number (??) - a man with an accent answers "Internal Revenue Service" then starts fishing for information. An obvious scam. I told them I was reporting them and they hung up immediately.

- Santa Cruz, CA, USA

Call came in from New York (1 646-205-0541), I let it go to voicemail.

Voicemail text from an automated voice system (not a real person's voice)

"Hello, we have been trying to reach you.

This all is a final notice from Department of Treasury Internal Revenue Service.

The reason for this call is to inform you that IRS is filing a lawsuit against you.

To get more information about your case file, please call us immediately on 640-205-5541. I repeat 646-205-5541

Thank you."

I called the number and the man answering seemed confused and said, "Um, Hello, IRS"

I said, " I am returning your call"

He said, "Oh, you must have a pass code"

I said, "I don't understand"

He hung up.

I called again, same man answered and said, "Hello, IRS"

I said, "I am returning your call"

He hung up

I called again, same man answered and said, "This is the IRS"

Then he hung up.

I called twice more and there was no answer after multiple rings.
