My experience was almost identical to the one described on this site by another person. I've amended what they wrote to reflect the details of my experience:

I was emailed about a purely remote Art Director job for SIMSLuxury Builders by Michael Cappello, Hiring Mgr/Training at [email protected]. After I replied that I would be interested, they emailed me 20 interview questions where I had 2 hours to complete. After completing, I was told by email that the questions would be sent to the team to review---Sent at 5pm. The following day 7:40 a.m., I received an email that I got the job and for me send my full name, address, email and my acceptance to John Langford, Sr HR Mgr at [email protected]. Also included in the email: You will receive your duties everyday via email and I will be online to walk you through your tasks. You will be undergoing a 3 to 5 days online training, via Zoom, immediately after setting up your mini office. We are starting you with $62.75 per hour with a $50 sign on bonus and you will receive your pay weekly via wire transfer, direct deposit or check, depending on which you prefer. Benefits include Health and Dental Insurance, Employee Wellness and Paid Time Off. You will be enrolled for other benefits after a period of 3 months of working with us. We are going to be communicating virtually till after 5 days of working with us, subsequently a user and password will be given to you including an up link to the company server and a list of contact phone numbers to various departments will be sent to you including all necessary forms to fill out. You will be receiving your Employment Offer Letter from HR via email to sign tomorrow. Our aim is for you to start training as soon as possible. After I received this, I searched IG/FB/Linkedin and did not see either contact listed as an employee or any open positions posted. When I searched the HR email in google, ScamPulse.com Scam Tracker was the first link to pop up, with someone describing my experience nearly to the letter.

Received an email about an interview being instructed to download the Signal app and speak with Mrs. Julie Ellison for an interview. Only sent messages, didnt call. She sounded like an AI and when I asked if she was, she stopped messaging me and the messages would no longer send. Also asked for my name, location, and where I bank. Was sent a check of $7,300 from a farm in Minnesota that seems to be closed down. The check came from Colorado and the business is claiming to be in Reno, Nevada. Seems very weird and like a bunch of red flags. Sending check back to address that it was sent from.

I received a text from Katherine +1 (945) 290-8638 to set up an online interview for Unipart Logistics Group. I had applied on indeed and did my research to prepare for the interview and eve thing seemed legit. Unipart is based out of England and there are a few locations in the states, one being in the town over from where I live. The interview was held via Zoom chat, which should’ve been my first red flag but I just assumed that’s how this company operated. We went back and forth for about 45 minutes; they had a basic social questionnaire which seemed normal and they also asked typical interview questions so my scam detector wasn’t going off. They offered me a position as a data entry clerk for $20/hr to train and then it would be $35/hr full time - this should’ve been my second red flag because no one pays that for data entry but I was excited. They then sent me an offer letter and i9 to fill out, I did. Next they’re telling me they need to access my Verizon account so they can order the equipment that I’ll need (they will reimburse me with a check). THIRD RED FLAG but I gave it to them thinking I’ll just change my password when they’re finished. Now, they’re asking me for my Apple ID login and password and that’s when it him me that I was being scammed. I immediately confronted this person who was completely denying being a scam. Claimed he is a god fearing man with a family of his own so he would never do that. I panicked and searched online for potential scam with this company and found there have been several incidents. I called the REAL Unipart Logistics HR, Veronica, and she informed me that yes, unfortunately I was being scammed and there has been an influx the last 3 weeks. She also told me that their parent company in England is aware of the issue but have yet to do anything about it. After speaking with Veronica I went back to zoom chat to inform the scammer I was aware of what they were doing. He kept insisting he wasn’t a scammer and when I ended the conversation someone began to text me. This person was obviously impersonating an FBI agent, sending a photo of a badge, saying they needed information from me. I reported the number as spam. Another number called and texted me, I reported it as spam. These people were relentless after they knew I figured them out. “Names” I got throughout the process were Katherine, Carlos, Bill Raymond. When I actually spoke to someone via zoom call I could barely understand their English, they had a heavy Asian or African accent, I couldn’t tell because he kept changing how he was speaking.

i was contacted about a job offer via email, had a "mock" interview and was given a start date. I was told the first 30 days would be a probationary period, and at the end of the 30 days they would decide if they wanted to hire me on for full time. the position was a fulfillment handler, they would send me packages with varying items from apple watches, to security cameras and a lot of other things. I was told that my first check would come in the form of a check since it was considered a probationary period. I have not received that said check, and the website that i was using to do my work from no longer exists. Part of my job was to inspect the packages that were received and make sure the contents were accurate. All of the packages were going to the same address, but under different names. That address is: 2300 Wisconsin Ave, Unit 301 #223 Downers Grove, IL 60515.

Contacted via text by an "Evelyn Wang" about them finding my resume on LinkedIn, was then told to download wither microsoft teams or skype. Was contacted by an "HR rep" Jacob Woo via skype but only the chat function, asked a series of questions about my employment history, wanted to send me a check to purchase equipment. Run of the mill fake job scam.

I received a text from the number (239-677-4875) claiming to be Ms. Melissa Jones from a company called AON LTD. I took down my resume and info on Indeed a month ago and received this text message today. This is the third time I have received a text message about a data entry job in the same way without applying to these companies.

Recieved an email from [email protected] with Aldevron LLC stating that I was selected for an interview for an unknown remote position. Training pay would be $29.45hr and $49.55hr after training is complete.

I had never applied for this company. The details were vague and the person I was instructed to contact via Teams did not appear to work for this company when I searched for her on LinkedIn.

Below is what was also included in the email.

This person is clearly a scammer. I was initially reached out to by Elizabeth Throup on Upwork.com and invited to submit a proposal for a Healthcare Data Analyst position. After spending time and effort to write and submit my proposal, I was messaged on Upwork later that evening. I was asked to download the Signal app in order to contact human resources. The human resources contact person is Ricardo Garcia. I had never heard of the app and assumed it was something similar to skype or zoom. I was advised the interview would be conducted via text which seemed highly suspicious. Just to be sure I wanted to see what types of questions would be asked.

The first question I was asked included an inquiry about my location. I advised I would provide location details later. I was asked one actual work related question.... then I received this list of questions below. Very clearly a scam.

1) What inspired you to go into this field?

2) How long have you been seeking a new job ?

3) Are you seeking a part time or full time job?

4) Are you currently employed ?

5) How many hours will you be able to devote to the company daily?

6) Do you have a printer, scanner, fax machine and a copier ?

7) What is your highest educational diploma ?

8) When did you receive your highest educational diploma?

9) Do you have an idea of how to use Ms excel and do you know your typing speed?

10) What do you understand by petty cash and privacy code of conduct?

11) Have you ever been interviewed online before by a different company?

12b) What Bank(s) Do you Operate with to see if it tallies with the company's official salary payment account?

13) Do you have a Verizon, T- Mobile, Dell or AT&T postpaid account?

13b)Do you have a Credit Card?

14) Give me 3 genuine and specific reasons why you should be hired by the company?

15)In a grade of %100 how much can this company depend on you for your loyalty, diligence, hard work, team spirit and sincerity?

I was looking for a job online and found employable.co. They had a chat on there and said there was a remote job that paid $150 a day for an hour of work. She then sent me to WhatsApp. They used this platform to do reviews and you were supposed to make money. I tried it out and then realized it’s a scam. They give you money the first day but then the way it works is that you have to deposit money to do a review and finish 38 tasks and cannot withdrawl until they are all done. After the first day they make the money amount higher and higher when you get closer to the 38 task amount that you would never be able to withdrawal. I stopped after I put in $500. This was a month and a half ago and today I just had another person contact me with the same scam but done in a slightly different way calling itself The Manifest.

I received a email about a job position, it told me I qualified for it. It asked that I fill out a job application, name address date of birth and job history. I was told to call in to speak to my manager. I call it goes to voicemail, then someone calls me back saying they will email me the details for the position where it says they will deposit money into my account to purchase items.

I applied for a virtual jobs via career builder. I got a text immediately from someone named Leonel and he confirmed that he received my application and would like to interview me. I told him I was interested in an interview. He then informed me that someone named Jerry would be conducting the interview via Skype. I did the Skype interview which was really a telegram or interview via text message in Skype. He asked general employment questions along with personal references. I was later informed that I received the job. They sent all of the typical intake paperwork like w4, personal info, company contract that needed to be signed and emailed back. Before they even sent the intake paperwork, they wanted me to mobile deposit checks emailed to me to purchase company technology (i.e. apple laptop, ect..). When I attempted to deposit the check, it bounced. I informed Jerry of this and he overnighted the check and I ended having to deposit the check in-person at my bank. After, I attempted to deposit the check, and my bank informed me the check was fake. Later on during that day I told Jerry the bank informed me that the check was fake and that resign from this position immediately and did not contact him afterwards. Three days later I received a check in the mail from them and text several hours later to confirm that I received the check. I told the person I resigned from the position and who I needed to send the check back to. The person denied the check being fake and told me I had 24 hours to deposit the check or I would be charged by the company for being procession of company property. The person also alluded to having all of my personal info and a pic of me. I did provide my personal info.

The offer letter seems legit and i even signed it. But after they began trying to get bank name and such, I stopped answering and saw others reported it as a scam.

I received an email with a job offer. From there I chatted with their supposed interview manager, Diego Ibanez Pena. I researched the company and the emails of those listed - they all came back as valid and Diego even had a LinkedIn Profile. There was no information from a simple Google search to see if this was a scam or not. After chatting through Microsoft Teams, they requested my address and name... I received a check in the mail. Upon opening the check, it looked suspicious so I looked up the addresses and names listed to check validity, which is where I found evidence of a previous scam attempt.

They walk you through a potential commission opportunities. They advertise a work from home job as a office assisstant everywhere. In local papers,in social media, Facebook groups, etc.. . They use Facebook,WhatsApp, Telegram. I became extremely self aware it was a scam, played curious and played with him, Ryan was his name apparently,

although i have seen this same scam with other names. I didn't get to the part of telling me to give money to make money, but reading anothers downfall its the exact same routine. Beware

I applied for a job on Indeed for the position of Remote Assistant for a company called AR Services. The position was for someone who can convert money into cryptocurrency for clients. I was then contacted via email requesting an interview. I received a call from 754-799-2757 and spoke to a Trico who conducted the interview and asked basic interview questions. I was then told he would forward my information to a manager. I received an email from [email protected] asking me to contact the HR manager and to set up a messaging application called Telegram for all communications. I then received another email saying my application was accepted and welcoming me to the team. I then had to fill out a W9 and sign a contract agreement. I started training with a man names Lars Bergman via Telegram who asked that I set up a bank account in my name so our clients can transfer money directly to me and I would then convert the money into cryptocurrency. This sounds like a form of money laundering or they are wanting to deposit fraudulent money into my account and then have me convert it to cryptocurrency and the fallback would land on me.

- Hagerstown, MD, USA

I received an email from a man named Jason Kurrass that stated he received my application for a position via LinkedIn and he wanted to know if I was available for an online interview. It was remote position so this was not weird or out of the ordinary for me. The interview was conducted via RingCentral. I would have to signup for ring central and then send him a direct message in the RingCentral chat to let him know I signed up. I conducted the interview thinking it would be a video call but it was a voice call instead with very easy interview questions. This was peculiar to me, but I was in need of a job and ignored the signs. After the interview Jason let me know that I would hear back the next day and to check my spam folder as well as primary. Again, very weird. The day after the interview was sent an offer letter being offered the position at a wage of $35 per hour and $25 per hour during training and the offer was indeed in my spam folder. I was requested to sign and date this letter and then send it back to him which I did. Again, many red flag, but after a long job search I was excited for the opportunity, especially since bills were piling up. After I signed the offer letter, I received an email from Jason stating that he needs me to type my home office location and that I would need to complete an assesment. I stupidly gave him my full name and address, which I was confused as to why he didn't already have that. I also completed an assessment where I would have to a 200-400 word short essay explaining what administrative mistake have I made in the past and what have I learned from it. This essay needed to be completed by the end of the day and sent back to Jason in PDF form. Jason also mentioned that I would be given a $100 bonus for the time I took to complete the assessment. I completed the assessment within less than 30 minutes and sent it back. The next day the assessment was approved and so was my "home office setup." He also stated that at 1pm that afternoon I will be receiving an electronic startup check that will cover the cost of my home office and that he (Jason) will be facilitating the entire process. At 12:45PM that afternoon, I received a check for $4,299 via email and instructions on how to print the attach check on paper, cut out the edges of the front and back of the check, sign the check and then write "for deposit only.' I was then told to repost the funds in my mobile bank app via mobile check deposit and that the fund will be available for immediate use the next business day. The hiring manager kept urging me to deposit the check right away. Now I know I have been silly throughout this entire process, but emailing a check for that amount of money did not seem right with me. I showed my wife and she agreed it was odd. After further research on reddit and TikTok we discovered bioscience job scams that described my entire hiring process word for word. I was devastated because I am in such deep need of a job and was really excited for an opportunity. I stopped reponding to Jason and now I am making this post to warn others.
