The scammer made a post for a “low cost” kitten on Craigslist that had not been neutered or vaccinated. The location showed Tallahassee on Craigslist. They asked me to put my phone number in the reply if I was serious. They messaged me late at night with one of the pictures from the post asking if I loved it. I asked questions about its history and for more images and they avoided the questions but said it was $40 and sent images. They sent an address in Tampa and immediately after sending the message asked if I was still there. I knew it was a scam and blocked the number

I contacted the scammer by picking out the kitten I was interested in talking about. It was a Siberian kitten scam. He then text me and asked me if my name was one that was suspended online. I said yes. Subsequent emails went back and forth for about 2 weeks. After I purchased the kitty, he then sent me to a courier, which I suspect was his partner in crime. The courier said he could not send the kitty without a proper cage and then he told me about an expensive insurance. When I started to get suspicious, the accuse me of abusing the pet by aborting the deal and allowing the pet to be at the airport for a long time. I had just lost my sweet boo bear pet, very vulnerable, and the amount of emails that I received reassuring me that this was not a scam, and that when I got suspicious they would return my money I never heard from the breeder or the courier again.

This is a Facebook site that is offering kittens for a very cheap price. They claim to be “Just asking for a rehoming fee” I was caught by my love for kittens. Before I could see the kitten i had to pay $100. Of course it was refundable if I did not like her. I asked for additional pics, her address, etc. I did a reverse image search. Pics were stock images. I suggested she may be trying to scam me. I stopped corresponding, but she is still online scamming others.

I was looking at different sites for breeders of Russian Blue cats, and I contacted this person through their website about advertised kittens they had available. We emailed, texted, and had phone call contacts with one another to organize a deposit on the kitten and a virtual meeting of the kitten. They told me to send a Zelle deposit of $400 dollars prior to allowing me to view the kittens - they said something to the extent that they need to be careful of "dishonest" individuals who would capture videos and images of the kittens to then post them for sale elsewhere. I was wary of this business, but having had phone interactions, they sent me a signed bill of contract/receipt, and promised to organize a virtual meeting with the kittens as soon as possible, and so I continued with the transaction.

I was informed that the individual would be back at the cattery in one hour after I sent the deposit money through a Zelle payment. I talked with them on the phone to confirm it was received and we set up a time (6:30pm EST) to meet with the kittens. I texted and called multiple times from 6:30 - 7 to try to get in contact and all texts and calls were ignored. I called my bank to report fraud and was informed that because it was a Zelle payment, I am very unlikely to get my money back.

Siamese breeder site online. Ordered a kitten after using "contact me" and receiving text messages and emails. Breeder was to ship kitten from Colorado Springs to Las Vegas using Logistek Transportation (there is a website for this company). Transport company rep wanted $2599.99 for a thermal carrier for the kitten, supposedly refundable upon delivery of animal. The rep couldn't adequately explain how I would be refunded.

They would not use credit card, PayPal. Wanted to use Zelle, but Zelle will not transfer that amount of money in one day (animal was also paid for through Zelle). Then the rep wanted to use CashApp, which will not load that amount either. They recommended adding money $500 at a time, and sent a request the money be paid to "B.Boy". Could not get hold of the breeder. Cannot find a headquarters phone number for the transport company. Cannot track down info on the breeder. The address of the supposed breeder is a single family residence. The name, Daniel Liam, doesn't come up anywhere in an online search.

Scam!

- Sutersville, PA, USA • Jan 31, 2024

searched for adoptable kittens and Siamese Kittens for Adoption and Rehoming appeared on facebook. Messaged that i was interested in adopting a kitten. He sent me an imessage with the webs details. Continued conversation led to me sending him $450 to cover expenses including vet appointment. After not hearing back from him, i continued to imessage the site several times and he finally called me and told me to stop imessaging him and insisted it was not him who i made payment to. After searching the number he called from (904-606-5787), the number comes from a landline located in Middleburg, FL. Continued to search and found a post on this site, along with his name of Eduardo Marasigan, with the same situation I am dealing with.

I advice victims to contact petaction @mail.co.Uk

- Birmingham, AL, USA • Jan 07, 2024

These people are fronting as Siamese cat breeders. There is no address or phone number on their website. You fill out their online form and they contact you with the information you’ve provided.

He insisted we pay a deposit for the kitten even though we would be driving over the next morning to look at them and purchase one. We agreed to send $300 through PayPal.

We texted once we arrived at the address given (after driving 2.5 hours) and were told that his mother was in the hospital and that we would have to come back tomorrow.

After a bit of back and forth communication it was obvious that we had been scammed. The address we were given was a residence but the people who lived there knew nothing of a cattery!

I contacted a person on Facebook Messenger about purchasing a kitten. I paid $450 deposit by Venmo to Lynn Sailor, with $450 due upon delivery. I was contacted by a delivery service via text message to pay $750 for insurance with 98% refundable upon delivery. I was unable to speak to someone by phone. I tried to send the fee but Venmo and Zelle would not process. I then called the number for fraud alert connected with my bank card and it had an invalid phone number attached to it. I’m not sure if it was because it was the weekend but I couldn’t get through to a live person to verify what charges had been tried on my card. I sent messages to the seller and transport company and have not received any response after I mentioned I felt like this was a scam. I researched the Facebook page where I first found the kitten and all the admins on the sight go back to Jennifer Ava even though they have different names. That pretty much told me it was a scam site.

I contacted the website about a kitten. The scammer texted me almost immediately. I filled out a form by email and when I was going to send money I asked for some sort of sign that they were a reputable business and she could not offer anything to me, and became very angry then stop talking to me, I searched and searched. The only thing I could find online was that their website was a scam.

- West Wareham, MA, USA

We wanted Siamese kittens and just feel so stupid for falling for too good to be true. Worst part is what it did to my children. And we do have expendable cash.

- Brighton, CO, USA

Scammer agree to sale Munchkin Kitten and cover all shipping costs. Kitten was not be shipped 6/13/2023. To date the kitten has not shipped nor has there been any evidence that the kitten exists even after several requests to do so. The sale says that he is trying to help collect money for the shipping company so that the kitten can ship.

According to the contact they sent, they could cover the shipping costs, medical costs and that I have ownership of the kitten. However, he is still on the website as available. The seller now will not respond to any text of emails. contact with supposed contact info is loaded.

- Clayton, NC, USA

The seller was selling sphynx kittens through the website. Wanted me to wire $650 for the kitten plus $150 for air delivery the same day. Money was wired via Zelle, although the seller also took Apple pay, cashier's check, and a few other forms of payment. Once I wired the money and it went through, the seller claimed to arrive to the airport for shipping and supposedly registered the kitten and sent the shipping confirmation. I then received an email from the shipping company US Express Delivery.com with the tracking number and asking me to wire another $900 via zelle for a special crate due to Covid requirements. The money was going to be fully reimbursed upon the cargo arrival. There was no contact information, such as a valid phone number or address listed for the US Express Delivery on the site. That's how I knew it was a scam.

- Galesburg, MI, USA

The scammer has a legitimate website. I filled out the inquiry form in regards to a russian blue kitten. Several days later, I was contacted via email. After answering questions and receiving pictures of the kitten, I was sent a contract to sign. Upon the completion of the contract, I was given information to send payment to secure the kitten and have her shipped. I sent payment via Venmo to a Mychelle Mosley. After the payment was delivered, I called the phone number associated with the business to verify the payment was received. A man answered and told me the payment was received and Mychelle is his wife. A couple of days later I googled the business and found that the website was reported as a scam. The website remains open still despite reporting the scam to the FBI and Venmo. Venmo has denied my claim even though no kitten has ever been delivered and money was stolen.

- Roanoke, VA, USA

Contacted Kitty’s Lansdale about adopting a kitten. Was advised to pay $850 (including shipping) and my kitten would be shipped to me since I have no breeders locally. The breeder advised that I should pay by Friends and Family on PayPal so the kitten isn’t sold waiting for the payment to clear. (Learn from my mistake and Don’t ever do this!!)

The breeder then claimed to have dropped the kitten off at the airport but the airport/shipping staff: GREENROCK SHIPPING AND LOGISTIC COMPANY (GSLC)

(PET DEPARTMENT) www.greenrocklogistics.com

Phone#: TEL:(405) 768-7417

advised that he had the wrong kind of pet carrier and that I would need to rent a specific temperature controlled one. I was confused by this but willing to talk to the shipper about it. The shipper then advised that the crate would cost between $999-3200 depending on how comfortable I wanted my pet to be and it was required because the weather was too bad. I told him I absolutely did not have the money so it wasn’t an option. I notified the breeder that I couldn’t afford the crate and the breeder said that I had agreed to pay for the crate and now the kitten will have to sit in the airport for several days all for something that wasn’t his fault because the breeder was now out of town. I explained that I never agreed to pay $999-3200 for a crate and that as a breeder who claims to have sold a large quantity of kittens why didn’t he know and/or have the right type of crate for the kitten? The breeder became angry stating that I would be refunded 95% of the cost of the crate once the plane landed and I offered to just pay the 5% then so no one would have to worry about paying me back for anything.

I also asked why the kitten needed a specialty temp controlled crate when both the breeder & shipping company’s websites state that pets are shipped in their own separate section of the plane that is pressure and temp controlled just like the cabin of the plane? The temp for the next 3 days where I lived and there was low 80’s sunny and clear blue skies… but apparently that’s somehow bad weather that GREENROCK SHIPPING AND LOGISTIC COMPANY (GSLC)

(PET DEPARTMENT) felt required a specialty crate.

After that the Kitty’s Lansdale Breeder completely stopped replying and refused to refund my money. I hope no one else ends up a victim to this scam.

- Greeley, CO, USA

Seller was claiming to have Belinese kittens for sale. They never communicated via phone, ONLY text messaging. They wanted to use PayPal but advised us to ONLY use friends and family and NOT business. Once payment was made, they supposedly shipped the kitten via globalcargo shipping but we never received anything.
