In June 2020 I thought I was on the official L.L.Bean site, in the sale category and I placed an order for shoes and a blouse. Payment was made through my Pay Pal account. I received an acknowledgment (see below). To date, September 21, no order. I have sent numerous emails with the same response that shipment is delayed due to the virus and customs. Customs delay?? I finally called L.L.Bean and was informed that my order number was not from their company. They apologized but said there is nothing they could do. For me, it's not the lost money, it's the fraud here.

Facebook post 90% off LLBean. Order placed. Read reviews. Called LLbean. No order placed. They are aware of the scam and are working with Facebook to take it down. They instructed me to call the credit card company. Called- they investigated- cancelled payment. 8 weeks later a package from china arrived with plastic sunglasses that we didn't order. We were questioning why we got it. Then I got a letter from Security Services P.O. box 6090 Sioux Falls SD 57117-6090. They are asking that I sign a form if I have no contact with a Chinese merchant. That's when I realized why we got the sunglasses. They have a shipping label looking like we had a business transaction. So, I need to know how to proceed. The form has a return date of August 1. They want me to pay $116.00 the total of the llbean order.

(I Have limited computer skills so am unsure if I can get copies of the forms to you. I'd be happy to mail them to you. I wanted to submit this much now and will try to produce a pdf.)
