This happened today. I went online to renew my passport. I thought I had been on an official US government website, so I filled out my personal information, including my SSN! It wasn't until I left the site that I realized it was a scam. There was no indication that this was not an official US Government site. They did not tell you the money was for them, not the passport. It might have been in small print, but nothing suggested they were not an official US government website. I just sent an email to them asking for a refund. I am awaiting their reply, which I probably will not receive. Google should not allow this company to be first on the list of renewing passports. It should be the US Government's renewal site.

I needed to renew my passport and thought I was on a .gov site for the state department but clearly had not double checked my URL or read the fine print on the site. It wasn't until I went to the post office to submit my paperwork and get my photo that I was informed this was a scam - there should be no charge for filling out paperwork, they do not sell passport insurance (and I did an internet search on this as I'd never heard of such a thing), the cost of a passport card is $30 not $19.95, and we're not sure what priority service at $19.95 I was paying for since I hadn't mailed in the application. In hindsight, there were all kinds of red flags I missed. I've frozen my credit and put alerts on everything else. I was able to recover funds from my credit card company. What is most frustrating is that this site was at the top of my Google search.

I thought I was apply for a passport renewal at myusatraveldocs.org. But this site just collects your personal data and puts on the passport application in PDF form and mails it back to you for $128. You still have to take to post office and pay the usual amount for a passport renewal. Went to post office and found this out the hard way as they said it was a scam. More worried about my personal data being compromised.

I went online to apply for a passport. I never had done this before. The site appeared to be a legitimate government site. I filled the form out and paid with credit card. When I received the email that the payment was processed, I realized the email address looked strange. I immediately searched online and saw it was a scam. I emailed them for a refund (I had read somebody else tried this and got their money back). I froze my credit and hopefully they will not use my personal information. The site says in little print that they are just using PDF editor but didn't notice since it looked like a government site. Thank you.

I entered the information to obtain a passport, including my name, SSN, and place of birth for myself, my spouse, and my children. I thought this was a legitimate organization affiliated with processing my passport. It was not and I never even received the passport document for one of my children. I was also charged an additional time.

While looking for how to get a passport this site was the first place that was said to be where I was supposed to apply for a passport online. The site is very misleading making it sound as if your filling out the application for a passport and paying the processing fees for the application and passport which was 108 dollars. After you give them all your personal information thinking its a government passport application site, and pay for the passport application, they simply email you a pdf of the official government passport application filled out. You must print it out and bring it to the post office. When you get to the post office you find out that the application processing fee is not paid for, and you still end up needing to pay the post office 130 dollars to process the passport application, which the site mentioned was claiming to be already done. Basically the site charges you 100+ dollars to fill out the application for you online....and that is all...while making it appear you are paying for passport application processing fees.

The business website closely mimics government sites and proports to provide online application for US passports. (Not sure how I got there after navigating through the legitimate .gov sites.) The logo, layout, and content all lead consumers to believe they are on the legitimate government site. Even the total fees closely align with the government processing fees for obtaining a travel passport. However, the website small print and receipts/documents provided at the conclusion of the transaction confirm that this is a private company and all services are "optional". The exorbitant fees are simply to prepare a PDF document and is not in fact an online application. Moreover, the final instructions inform customers that they must print off the forms and pay government processing fees separately at "your nearest Passport Acceptance Facility or Agency to submit your DS-11 form and the supporting documents". The business is literally charging you high fees to obtain your personally identifiable info.

This website is posing as a official government website while having a ting disclaimer you only see after the payment. I paid $168.85 for services that they never fulfilled. And all that was given was a form filled out that you can do for free.

Filled out what was presented as a gov't document with critical personal info, was charged more than what was previously mentioned which is what triggered me calling for a refund, then reporting to my cc company. I was told by the company they would reimburse but never received reimbursement.

This was a service advertised on web site for passport expediation. I filled out requisite personal information was told that the completed form will be e mailed back to me in three to four hours. I am still waiting and their phone no. listed on the web site is disconnected.

I am going to complain to Ohio State AG office for international maoney laundering as it seems that it is based in Spain. Also, I am complaining to US State Department and US passport office for farud but most importantly for money laundering across US border.

I was renewing my passport online and seached DS-82 and this website mytraveldocs.org immediately came up. I figured it was a valid (.org) company only to find out that it is not a US Government passport agency.

I immediately contacted my credit card company and stopped the $168.85 charge (which is their processing charge only) and my credit card company gave me their phone number so I cancelled the application with them. My fear is that they now have all of my personal information and I'm hoping that I don't have issues getting my passport renewed through a valid US Passport Agency aka Government Agency.

I wanted to renew my passport application online as it expired. I searched for how to do this online and found this website: https://www.myusatraveldocs.org/. I thought this would enable me to renew my passport but this was not the case. All it does is verify the information and then provides me the form I need to send to the US government. So I paid them $89 for nothing. I should have looked more carefully to find the site on the United States government page but it wasn't until I received an email from them that I realized I didn't need to go through the website named above.

This is a scam to me in that they accept money that does not apply to the passport application. I found it myself but they should be blocked.

myusatraveldocs.org is a very misleading site in had us believe we were paying for our passport renewal including insurance. Only after obtaining our personal information and fees did we discover this is not the case.

Filed for passport and site supplied application and filled in information. Printed document and upon going to Passport Service site (post office) was informed I owed $130 and the site was fraudulent. Applications are free and there is no charge until you file the application.

The group's website appear to mirror the look of the US Dept. of State's website, and states that the can help expedite the submission of a passport application (Form DS-82). It was not until after providing all personal info. required by the form and paying $128 did I notice that the org is not affiliated with the US Govt. Shortly after, I received an email stating that they will review the app. for "accuracy" to minimize errors, and they would get back to me with next steps, and another email stating that I could print out the application, proceed with submitting my application, and that it could be downloaded from a link in their email. I didn't click on the link and download the "reviewed" application for fear of making matters worse by possibly downloading an infected file unto my computer.

My husband thought he was on a government website to complete paperwork for a passport. He was ask to submit the form after completion with $89.00, thinking this was legitimate payment for a passport. After submitting he got an email stating , "Our experts will thoroughly review your application over the next 24-48 hours to ensure there are no mistakes that may cause a delay in the processing of your passport. Once reviewed, you will receive your completed PDF application form and personalized instruction to complete the process.". In other words, he handed over his identity on a silver platter.

I was attempting to download a DS-11 passport form and not sure how I ended up on 'myusatraveldocs.org'. I was charged $148.90 under the misleading assumption that I was paying my passport fees to U.S. Department of State with a credit card. I was misled into divulging my personal information to a private business portraying itself as a legitimate government agency through deceptive large print letterhead stating;

(U.S. TRAVEL ONLINE APPLICATION along side a photo of the U.S. CAPITOL ROTUNDA). While their legal disclaimer is at the bottom of their webpage in very small print stating: "myusatraveldocs.org is a private business, not an official government organization nor affiliated with any US government agencies. I came to this conclusion when I went to the US POST OFFICE to expedite my passport and the Postal Clerk informed me that I had been scammed by .myusatraveldocs.org. I believe the myusatraveldocs.org website is using a US government agency to scam consumers out of their money and personal information.

While on their website, no service fee or application fee was mentioned or any disclaimer stating that they were not affiliated with the government. The websites' only application request was the personal information required on the DS-11 FORM and the credit card payment. I called the contact phone number on their website and it was disconnected. I was able contact them through email and request a refund, surprisingly the money was put back on my card in (1) day. I get the feeling they want me to shut up and go away. I got my money back but what about the people they've robbed in the past and future? I've sent a letter to the Office of the Attorney General to look into the company's business practices and I have tried to warn the consumers.
